The canopies being recalled were exclusively sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online from August 1996 through March 2014.

Also, if your kid still fits in an infant's bed after 18 years consult a physician.

Maybe I'm just being insensitive, but 9 injuries for something sold over a period of 18 years seems pretty small for pretty much any children's product.

Those are mosquito nets.  Why the flying fark are these being sold in first world countries?  Why would people be putting these over their cribs?  We have walls and floors and roofs and screened windows to keep bugs off our kids.  The kind of people who lack those basic things don't strike me as the type to shop at Ikea.

I was thinking the same thing.

One incident that occurred in the U.S. involved a 7-month-old girl who pulled the canopy's fabric into her crib and wrapped it around her neck several times.

Goth baby wants what goth baby wants...

Welcome to the Ikea store. Our entire showroom is draped with Swedish flags and its colors, in order to sell extraordinarily cheaply-made garbage made in China.

Had some canopies at a party the other night.

God damnit.. I've been on hold for an hour.. I think my baby is dead.. Needed help untangling this shiat. On the bright side, it saved me a lot of money.

So... The only time it was a real issue was when an idiot put it in a baby's crib?

If you are British, I would like to point out that your "rhyming slang" is the most ridiculous thing ever imagined.

If you are Australian, I'll just laugh at you for using British slang.

No, and she ended up owing the sanctuary $83,000 for their legal costs.

Hey, I'm using it affectionately.

I mean, would I be posting on a site run by seppos, where most of the posters are seppos, if I didn't have some strange attraction to some of you, at least?

Some of us very much enjoy rhyming slang, FWIW.

Umm - one look at the product and OF COURSE, if you wrap it around your neck, it can be a problem.  That's true of pretty much anything you can wrap around your neck.

Recalling this is stupid.

In their defense, 64% of Ikea's cheaply made garbage is made in Europe, only 22% in China.
