Bonzo_1116: Dinobot: He should force the Mexican cardinals, archbishops and bishops to excommunicate all the drug cartel people that worship  "La Santa Muerte"

I'm hoping they're next on the list.  But frankly the cartel assholes are so far outside the pale they likely won't give a shiat.  Their Mommas might, but the narcotraficantes don't really care about anybody but Mammon.

It's worth a try.

Captain Steroid: iheartscotch: hardinparamedic: Peter von Nostrand: Rape rape, or just rape?

Well, if you're an 8 year old boy, you might stand a chance.

What the actual fark was that? I realize it was anime, abridged and a joke; but, that was even less nonsensical than Bleach if you happen to miss one episode; if that's even possible.

/ fark; that's full blown FLCL shiat going on there

Yeah, I'm more partial to DBZ Abridged myself. :-)

Yeah; I don't want to watch the entirety of all 20 episodes before they actually do stuff. I enjoy DBZ; but, only after I've been drinking a while.

I may have to investigate abridged anime; I've always wanted to finish the one series where its vampires vs the Catholic Church; and there's zeppelins and shiat. I'm blanking on the name; I want to say it was something like True Blood, but, that's on HBO.

/ off to google

Because I needed the Pope to tell me the mafias going to Hell.

Wot? The Mafia going to hell? Pfffftttt!!!

They'd better get a move on to have any hope of ever catching up to these guys.

In other news, The Vat owns Europe's biggest gay bathhouse. What a hoot!!

How come noboby's ever made sequel after sequel about this place?

Might work with the people, but the heads of the different cartels don't really care.

Animatronik: Because I needed the Pope to tell me the mafias going to Hell.

That's about where I'd go.  When he starts excommunicating know Mafia bosses, *then* we'll be seeing some palle di ottone.

Alright. Well. Lemme know when he stops talking about what might happen to bad people when they die and actually takes care of problems. Like, oh I dunno, the child-raping priests in his own organization?

fusillade762: I didn't think Catholics believed in hell anymore?

Maybe you'r'e thinking of the Pope Francis quote where he said Hell was a metaphor or something like that? I saw that somewhere as well but it was a case of satire being mistaken for something real and passed around as such.

Actually I think it was Bill Maher talking to a Vatican priest in "Religulous".

So when will the Vatican be invaded by the UN?

I came here to say this, but I would have added "that unfortunately caused the Pontiff's death."

Limbo.  Limbo got the boot, but since it was never officially part of doctrine, it wasn't a huge loss.

Hell is still eternal separation from God's grace.  That's still on the menu.

Apparently what is longer on the menu is the Christian tenant that somebody gets judged by God on whether or not he/she goes to heaven or hell and some human.

I hate Christian tenants. They never pay their rent on time.

And they're always making too much noise with and some human

scottydoesntknow: SoupJohnB: Oh, please.  There's no such thing as the Mafia.  And even if there once was (as alleged), I saw this show on the "Biography" channel about how all the Sicilian and Italian hoodlums were sent away to prison, forever.

/There have been 3-4 shows about it, come to think of it, covering different eras

What about these guys?

If you've seen the show, you'd know the head of the Amish Mafia is outside of the Amish church now and he is already considered 'lost' in the eyes of the Amish.  Well, as for the show is concerned.

Well, now we know who Pope Francis really loves, and who he really hates.

He loves the mafia. He hates homosexuals.

See, within the logic of Catholic doctrine, mafiosos and homosexuals are equally hellbound. Yet "liberal" Pope Francis takes it on himself to warn the mafiosos of their ultimate destinies, while offering to homosexuals a false sense of non-judgmental comfort.

It's just cruel. Pope Francis is a cruel cruel man. It's sad that the church has fallen so far from its peak compassionate years during the inquisitions.

That's right, torturing people into conversion is the only compassionate move against the possibility of eternal damnation. Why are today's Catholics so crassly indifferent to their fellow man that they refuse to torture people to save their souls?

I bet it's selfishness. Catholics don't want to go to prison, or receive the death penalty themselves; they're putting their own temporal well-being ahead of other people's spiritual well being.

It's downright sinful.

Okay, was that trolling or sincere crazy?  I have such a hard time figuring that out with some Farkers.

JoieD'Zen: Pope Francis is awesome.

You know why I think he's safe riding around without the bullet proof Pope-Mobile?  Because both the powerful assholes with assassins on payroll and the straight-out crazies respect him.  He's lived and continues to live a life of humility and empathy, apparently unlike any Pope in the recent memory, perhaps recorded history, of the Catholic Church.

I have no love for the Catholic (or any other) Church, but they chose exactly the right man for the job this round.

So did you not read the article and jump to making half assed assumptions?

TFA points out when JPII told the Mafia they were going to hell, they bombed two churches in Rome.

So yeah, having the metaphorical balls to ask them to be better human beings, implying they were scum, kinda a helluva thing to do when you give up the bulletproof ride.

It doesn't take balls if you believe the information he's selling. Either god will protect him or it's just his time. It's not fear or bravery but his faith. He's just gambling with other peoples lives on the chance that his beliefs are true.

You're adorable. But unless you *know* him personally, you're talking out your ass and making assumptions about how far he takes his faith.

But don't let things like 'logic' get in the way of personal bias.

Capo Del Bandito: assumptions about how far he takes his faith.

He's the farking pope, the leader of the Catholic Church, I think it's fairly logical to make assumptions on his faith.

The My Little Pony Killer: Alright. Well. Lemme know when he stops talking about what might happen to bad people when they die and actually takes care of problems. Like, oh I dunno, the child-raping priests in his own organization?

He is taking care of problems. Most recently -  Francis names O'Malley to Vatican anti-abuse panel:
Pope Francis today named Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley of Boston and seven other figures with reputations as reformers to guide a new Vatican anti-abuse commission, a move intended to demonstrate resolve about confronting the child sexual abuse scandals that have rocked Catholicism.

He's also a Jesuit. They're astoundingly logical given their beliefs.

But keep on assumin'. S'what normal folks do when they can't handle using their brains.

Don't mind him. He appears in EVERY Pope Francis thread to complain that Pope Francis is a fraud, etc. S'hard to tell if he's a troll or being serious, but he's completely illogical. S'better just to ignore'em.

So because the logical path I took to arrive at my opinion differs from yours, I'm not using logic?  Good luck in life.
