(News.com.au)   Most MLB teams playing an exhibition match in a foreign country have a good time and win the game handily. Then there's the Diamondbacks   (news.com.au) divider line 22

They probably call the fielders "defensemen"

Sigh...

As much as it would be nice to have Archie Bradley up to start the proper regular season (especially with our planned Opening Day starter Patrick Corbin being one of the many headed to Tommy John surgery), he's not ready yet. His last two exhibition starts have been poor.

He'll be in the Majors sometime this season, but he still needs time in the minors before he's ready.

"Disappointed not to cause a stunning boil over against the might of the Los Angeles Dodgers the night before, Australia came out swinging to ensure they finished their two exhibition matches with at least one memorable win. "

Huh? They did what with the Dodgers?

Also got a smile out of "eighth innings."   Guess the writer usually covers cricket.
It's all good, though -- more ingredients in the international stewpot that baseball is becoming.
The original generation of American baseball owners thought that the game would eventually become world-wide.  It's taken a hundred years longer than they expected, but it is happening.

As a Dodgers fan this pleases me.  I think they should send the Aussie team to Arizona to go party in the pool!

It was a baseball friendly, and the defensmen held the batsmen and base rounders to runs nil. Jolly good showing

Brilliant!  I think this should become a meme:  Let the NL West winner get a pool party every season.

Obviously, if their pitchers had beaned 3 or 4 more Australian batters, the D-Backs would've won handily.

I mean, really, just one HBP? Embarrassing.

I'm not sure either, but I think their dad is going to make the Dodgers marry them now.

How the f*ck does Wade Miley play in the majors with a crippling fear of flying? It can't be that bad if he f*cking flies 60 times a year during the season.

Suck it, Arizona.

You must be from the future when the league expands to include Australia and based on your word choice.
Poor attempt, I'm giving it a 1/10, it'd be 2 but you lose a point based on grammar.

Yeah but he's right, it was an exhibition game. Practice? Practice.

And yet, most of the time these practice games result in a very easy win, which is what makes this hilarious, even if it is meaningless in the long run.

And en route to the stadium for tonight's game, the Dbacks team bus suffered a flat tire. That may be a metaphor for their season- stuck before it even gets started.
