10 Things Highly Intuitive People Do Differently tfa's author publicly pats herself on the back for doing

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some of the things on the list and find others to be valuable pursuits, but let's not pretend this isn't a vanity article. Also, while "gut feelings" sometimes are valuable and (if you're lucky) have a little wisdom in them somewhere, other times they're just a self-serving excuse for doing stupid shiat on a whim.

draypresct: Counterevidence? Everyone who's ever made a decision in the direction they didn't want to because the evidence led them that way.

/If decision-making were emotional instead of logical, I'd weigh >300 pounds.

Your presupposing that your logical decision to not eat a steak to avoid weight gain didn't invoke an emotional response.

That said, the result of research wasn't that people don't ever make rational decisions.

I prefer calling it "Extrapolating from incomplete datasets".

How the hell else does anyone extrapolate?  If you have a complete data set you don't need to extrapolate.

The one thing 'intuitive' people have done;

1. Used their powerful subconscious mind to their advantage.

The one thing most of them have done;

1. Made up a bunch of bullshiat reasons as to what they are doing instead of actually learning about it.

TFA does not give enough emphasis to the fallibility of the brain.  Blindly trusting intuition is dangerous - it is a good way to find the path to confirmation bias and closes the door to discovering the fallacies in one's conclusions.  In my experience, intuition (hunches, flashes of insight, etc.) can be useful, but only in providing a direction to explore; they can be wrong. Verify with the tools of reason, logic, and evidence.

Walker: I do most of these except "They connect deeply with others. "
I don't like people. Stay away from me and stay off my lawn.

Yeah, I didn't get that one either.  Just about everything else on the list was introverted and they throw that one in.  Makes no sense.

The No. 1 thing that distinguishes intuitive people is that they listen to, rather than ignore, the guidance of their intuitions and gut feelings.

About that.

decision-making isn't logical, it's emotional, according to the latest findings in neuroscience.

vudukungfu: If a woman wants to borrow money. You won't get it back.

Back in the day, I had a client whose girlfriend "borrowed" money from him, here and there, over the course of two years.  Ultimately the total was $38k.  They break up, she's goes into bankruptcy, and he files an unsecured claim to recover the $38k.  Three years later, he's getting paid, but only two cents on the dollar, i.e. $800.  Yes, $800.

I scrolled down and read the first list item and decided it was dreck and the article was useless.

Maybe I had an intuitive flash that the list was garbage. Is that on there?
