List is fail without Arrogant Worms.

Thankfully they didn't list any "Wizard Rock". God, I hate that shiat so much that I'm compelled to bring it up out of the blue and complain about it.

It really does suck, though.

I had to click to make sure Weezer's blue album and TMBG's Apollo 18 were on the list. Check and check.

God, I am sick of everything having to be labeled for "geeks" or "nerds".

I wish that whole stupid culture and mindset would just die off already.

List is a total failure for not including Jonathan Richman/Modern Lovers

Shameless Plug for Descendants of Erdrick: Austin-based 8-bit cover band.  Makes a lot of the old Nintendo stuff sound pretty damn metal.

Good list... I don't listen to a lot of it, but know of the bands(Except for the Protomen), and would have expected to see them on there. List would have been a complete failure without TMBG especially, followed by DEVO, but since they're both included, I have to say that it's a pretty good list.

I don't really think I'd consider GWAR "nerdy".  The people I've seen at the multiple GWAR shows I've been to don't fit the "nerdy" thing as well.  I dunno.

Here's a picture from a GWAR show in 2012.  That's Jesus just prior to having the bottom half of his body torn off.  That show ruled.

Gwar seems to be kindve a "shove" into this list.  Very entertaining, but not quite "nerdy".

Early Elvis Costello. Or was he more geek than nerd?

Rush 2112 and Led Zeppelin IV are the height of nerd's rock. I was a nerd back in the day, and those albums were the desert disks of my teens.

GWAR = not nerdy
though, I am probably a nerd and also love them ...but this is, I believe, is absent from the list:

Mikey1969: but know of the bands(Except for the Protomen)

They're farking amazing. I see them every time they come to my area. They'll be here near Chicago next at Warped Tour. A dark small concert venue like The Metro Is more suited to the atmosphere of their music, but the big open stage at WT will still be a lot of fun. It's my first time going to Warped Tour but there are several artists that I'm looking forward to seeing.

For a while The Protomen were doing shows with I Fight Dragons. Those two were a good combo to see back to back.

/As far as the list goes, I saw GWAR, Andrew WK, and Coheed and Cambria all on the same day at a big music festival a couple of years back. Damn good time.

As long as grown men keep demanding via the internet grimdark reboots of their favorite childhood IP, there will always be nerds.

Festivals are almost always fun as long as you like the theme at all... It helps being able to wander stage to stage if the particular headliner band isn't your cup of tea, or at the kind with only the main stage, to just know that you can go have a few beers and come back when one of your more favored bands comes on. I really should start going to them again.

Absolutely. I was so sure I'd be seeing him at the number one spot. The rest of the list is good though. I'd slip out TD for Tool to catch the metal nerds because it sure as shiat isn't GWAR that'll do that.

Dutch Pilsner: Man or Astroman.

Still pissed at them... Went to see them at a bar/club in Phoenix one year. They didn't arrive and take the stage until 12:35 am, and last call was at 1 am. I paid tro see 25 minutes of the headlining band and 3 or 4 hours of some jackass hammering away on a keyboard. The dude was wearing a 49rs helmet, which I thought was a prop until he'd been on for an hour, then I realized it was for protection from flying beer bottles.

The only good memories of that night are when the Hell's Angels all roared up because they wanted to talk to the owner about renting the bar for some event. There were like 60 motorcycles out front at the same time as the 'Promise Keepers' got out of their meeting across the street. THAT shiat was far more entertaining than waiting around for Man r Astroman.

I got to see The Protomen at PAX Prime last year.  Instant fan right here.  I went up to their merch booth the next day and bought EVERYTHING.  Got them all to sign my poster, too.

Firewall blocked it, so I can't comment on it, but yeah swap GWAR for Weird Al.
