At this rate, Steve Jobs will have more movies made about him than Jesus, thus proving the point that in 500 years we'll all be praying to the iPod and electing an iPope.

When will they do the Teve Torbes biopic? Been waiting forever! They already have the book for source material.

Um...... no.

It's easy money. None of these movies cost much to make but the same people who held public vigils complete with their ipads showing candles on their screens will stand in line for days to be the first to be able to say they saw the latest Steve Jobs movie. It doesn't matter if a new one comes out every year, they'll still go because it will be a revolutionary change over last year's movie.

I'll watch one when they stop sucking his dick.

Another one? Steve Jobs was barely interesting enough for one movie, let alone two. The guy was a new agey, narcissistic douchebag with a turtleneck fetish. Sure, he had a knack for hiring talented engineers, and buying up the rights to some good stuff. But is that really worth all the attention he gets? If these people are so hard up for a good biopic, maybe try Mary Dague or Taylor Morris. Sure, they're not famous, but they're undoubtedly more interesting than a guy who ran a computer company.

Seems like perfect casting as a notorious doucebag is playing a notorious douchebag.

I'm holding out for the one starring Danny DeVito as Steve Jobs.

Now THAT would be entertaining.

I wondered this as well. I get the hate for the actor, but I don't get the hate for the film.

I thought it was alright.  It didn't whitewash Jobs, which surprised me (and is probably why it didn't do so well).  Any film (with Jobs as the focal point or as a main character) would be hard-pressed to surpass "Pirates of Silicon Valley."

I never saw it, as I just can't bring myself to care enough about a CEO to cough up the money to watch a movie about him.

Ok, if he played Steve Jobs as Patrick Bateman, I think I'd have to go see that.

He was imitating Tom Cruise in that movie.

" And then one day he called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy."

Another Jobs flick? It's not like he discovered fire or invented the wheel.

Seriously, no movie on Steve Jobs sounds exciting in anyway.  Dude helped make computers, and then ran a company.  BFD.

That also requires that I sit down and watch a movie about a CEO.

I'm actually amazed they didn't cast Leonardo DiCaprio. Between "The Aviator", "The Great Gatsby" and "The Wolf of Wall Street", he seems to be getting typecast as "Wealthy Asshole".

If you really dislike the actor, like me, you simply didn't see that film and feel totally comfortable mocking it.

*shrug*

Woz is the more interesting figure, but I doubt we're ever going to get a movie just about him.

farking Hollywood. Why are there two films about Truman Capote released within a year of each other, or Coco Chanel (although one was a TV movie) or Wyat Earp and Tombstone. Since you don't have to pay for rights to historical movies and the script gets written for you there is a lot of easy money to be made in the biopic genre.

Of course disaster movies are also prone to copycat studios with Armageddon/Deep Impact and Volcano/Dante's Peak being notable examples.

The worst thing about the previous movie jObs (?) is that it was a rehash of Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999). Maybe this film will be better because Jobs did some cool things but the story is quite dry and Jons is a pretty unsympathetic character, even if he did get cancer.

Is Jobs' story even that compelling? What is the big deal?

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: Is Jobs' story even that compelling? What is the big deal?

The big deal is that iFanBois will pay money to see movies about their god. Lots of money. And the product won't even have to be very good.

I'd rather see a hallmark movie rerun. Been reading about and seeing the guy most of my life. I honestly don't know what another movie would add but I wouldn't see it if they dug up John Gielgud and Orson Welles to do it.

Steve Jobs was a horrible horrible human being.  He should be remembered as one of the worst human beings in history  (not including dictators)

Pirates was really, really good, especially for a TV movie.

Heck, first time I saw it I didn't know it was a TV movie. That's how good it was considering it came way before TV became a legitimate artistic medium as it has lately. And it was a TNT production!!
