This was their most favourite toy (besides feather on a stick. wire hanger on a door knob, the bathroom sink, any type of paper, floofy balls...)
I remember  Domari telling me if I really wanted to get them - to stick a golf ball in it.
So I did.
OH MAN.
Drove them nuts! they tried forever to get the balls out.
You should have seen the LOOK on their faces the day they decided to try a group effort and succeeded.
Man..too funny!

Because Gremlin was growing bigger than Ben Hurr, and was a loooong kitten - How I never noticed them (probably Benner's) doing recon to find
out where I hid the treats...
But the day I came home to find that high cupboard open and their treats gone and their treat ball broken into pieces on the floor...
was the day I installed baby locks on all the cupboards.

Man! they were so pleased with themselves - then gave me hell for the locks hahaha!

One day I was sitting at the computer at home probably reading Caturday when I heard a crinkle crinkle at my feet. Zuma had brought the treat bag to me! I had forgotten to put it in the cupboard that one time!

hahahahah!
and let me guess - you were never allowed to forget were you?
hahhahaha!!!
The boys did that to me. They would literally "herd" me into the kitchen and show me exactly which cupboard they were in.
Even though at times they drove me nuts - I have to say - never did I learn so much as I did while I had those two.
Every day I laughed that I had them. For 8 months straight. I can't remember a time in my life that was just like that.
I haven't laughed every single day for 8 months straight since.
I try to find something to laugh about or at every day...but it doesn't always work.
Not the type of laughing those two brought out in me.
Strange, isn't it?
[fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net image 717x960]
PERFECT example.
The day Gremlin came home a week after Ben Hurr did.
That was Ben Hurr's straw. Gremlin wanted to play with it but Benner's was having none of it.
To show me the very first time how different their personalities were - Ben Hurr was under his chair hissing and growling at Gremlin.
Gremlin decided to "pretend" to fall asleep near that straw.
Over the course of an hour - Ben Hurr would slowly sneak up to try to get his straw, while I caught Gremlin "peeking" with one eye to see if
his new friend was coming closer.
Brats.

No sweetie, that isn't strange at all. That is part of the joy that these critters bring to us; laughter every single day.

I remember about a month before I lost Ben Hurr I had taken Gremlin in to get "snipped"
while Ben Hurr had an appointment with a Neurologist and Internal Medicine the same day
before we had to go pick Gremlin up.
He was SO unhappy about being there...
that he jumped up onto the exam table and proceeded to  RIP THE TAIL OFF THE FAKE DOG SKELETON!

And I can't find the picture of Ben Hurr playing in  Spinach Gunk's long, long hair.
He loved him some long hair.
First time I ever saw Gremlin jealous. Ever.

But I did come across this she made:

So, I ask my son "your grandma can't eat and I thawed a couple chicken tits. whatcha want for dinner?" cuz I'm thinking season/grill the chicky tits, make some rice pilaf and I got some of those bagged, prewashed/cut fresh green beans on mark down for 75 cents per pound bag at the market today and they are nommy if you blast 'em in the oven. Roasted veggies are always nommy. He says "we can get fast food if you don't feel like cooking" - like he's doing me a favor by offering to let me buy him Carl's Jr. I said "nooooo, I cannot afford fast fuds. I am broke. Very broke." He thinks a while, looks around the refrigerator, flips through one of my notebooks and his grandma's handwritten cookbook she's working on and says "what about this? Didn't you used to make this when I was little?" and he shows me a picture of Chicken Cordon Bleu. FFS. Now I gotta pound chicken breasts out or buy fast food because I'm having a minor flare up causing some pain in my arm and hand, but chicken cordon bleu sounds good and I haven't made that in a long time. Like, at least 10 years. Well, not at home, anyway.

Jerk needs to go outside and get a girlfriend. Who knows how to COOK. Not just boxed dinners, either, but half way fancy-ass shiat. (Chicken Cordon Bleu isn't really fancy, I don't think) Is that considered "fancy"?

I know! I know!  Pick me! **waves hands in air**  You should do some sort of Celtic knots!!  Not cutesy, but really cool :)  I actually found a really cool picture online of a dragon Celtic knot that I'm going to figure out how to adapt into wall hangings.  Actually, I can even link it.

I printed it off and spent some time coloring so I had a dragon for each season.  Now to figure out how to make it into the wallhangings :)  I'm excited!

And a quilt cat or two to make up for the non-cat picture and topic:

that's exactly what my father did to my sisters VHS tape of Dirty Dancing when we were much younger.
She would just leave it playing over and over and over again and loud too - even if she wasn't in the room.
I can't remember how many months of this we all suffered through before dad finally had one of his "irish fits of rage" and
took the tape, snapped it into pieces and muttered many threats if he ever saw that movie or heard any of the songs again in his house.

/I still can't stand the movie nor the songs.

Piece of Kitty Bling bought on sale at SwAdelines Winter Warm Up ~2012, educational wkend Region's since re-named since it's expanded by 4 chori. Had heckuva time booking room for 4 of us & getting all listed in room reservation.  Gave this to tenor chorusmate owned by at least 3 cats right after WWU, who's one of 4. Actually all 4 of us owned by cats; there's another lead who's retired RN, owned by at least 2 & genuine baritone purramedic owned by 3-4.  Her employers maniacked her days off, took her out of chorus for a while. That now fixed, also her insufficient dues caught up by friendly lend to get her back in good fiscal standing. Payoff for loan may be chance to actually meet cats who own her; think they too are Coonies, like Queen Mum Furry & sons.

I am also a believer that scars don't need to be hidden or masked, application of Vitamin E or similar can just make them more comfortable (i.e., less tight and itchy) to the bearer as time goes on.  I am not ashamed of my scars, but it's always nice to not have to live with them being a constant source of pain (I speak both physically and metaphorically...)

spman: So some of you may remember last week I posted about how my mothers cat had a fatty lump, which the Vet referred to as a tumor, and wanted to perform sugery because according the X-Ray, "it hadn't spread". So the cat has the surgery, everything goes well, seems to be recovering fine.

Today the Vet calls my mother and sells her the biopsy shows Fibrosarcoma, and immediately goes on about consulting an oncologist and radiation, and chemo, which is both A. Unaffordable and B. Quite frankly absurd to put a near 13 year old cat through. Unfortunately the vet was light on further details as far as prognosis, etc. etc., and that's how it was left.

This is very upsetting to me obviously, part of me almost wishes that it was over now, so I could grieve and move on, rather than dragging it on for however long it might be, knowing what the inevitable conclusion will be. Anyone have similar experiences, what is the typical prognosis is since we're just going to let it be? Two months? Six months? A Year? I'm just really bummed out now about the whole situation, especially since the Vet kind of set our expectations pretty high, only to have them drop to nothing once reality set in.

That sucks. I feel your pain and understand why you might be peeved at the vet. 13 years has been a good run for your Moms cat, though.
