Is that a Tyler Perry production written by Tyler Perry?

I'll give him credit for listening to criticism. I don't watch his shiat, and never will, but he had the balls to listen to WHY someone doesn't like his movies without being a dick.

One line in this entire article made it worth reading:

"It turns out that being a critic is much more difficult when the objects of your criticism are paying attention."

Heard a lot about his movies, so we tried one the other night. It was the Madea's Witness Protection one. We thought it was funny so we tried Madea's Big Happy Family...which sucked major ass. It wasn't funny, not one character was likable and the main plot point was a sweet old woman with an absolutely wretched family dying of cancer.

Never again, Mr. Perry.

Trust that I, too, didn't expect to be so generous about this movie. Perhaps receiving a phone call from Tyler Perry has dialed down my ire considerably. But mostly I think he gets a lot right in this film.

Somebody call a doctor. This woman was struck by a star, and now she's contorted a full 180 degrees from her original position.

Actually, the whole thing makes him look kind of classy. Plus I just watched Star Trek last night so I've been thinking about him.

You sure you weren't watching Norbit?

Nope, it was called "Madea's Big Happy Family". I can remember laughing once in a while during Norbit, but this one I couldn't wait for it to finally end.

I hear he only gets jobs these days by sleeping with the producer

I just hate movies where the preview trailer leads you to believe that it's this madcap, slapstick laugh fest and then five minutes in it takes a hard turn into downerland.

I'm looking at you, "Parenthood"...

If there's a candidate for someone who sold their soul to Lucifer for fame....it's Tyler Perry.

How that no-talent butt pirate has an audience is BEYOND me.

Dude...you can come out of the closet, it's ok. You don't need to project so much.

That said, whichever movie was about Madea getting her (grand/god)daughter/niece/sister/whoeverthefark back on her feet after kicking out (or getting kicked out by) The Man in Her Life is almost a war crime.

Man fark Tyler Perry!  His play came to my town on Wednesday and I spent my evening getting my ass handed to me in the kitchen I work at from all the people who went to see it.

/Just kidding, I have no feelings for the man one way or another
//Wednesday did suck though..
