Thank you, subby.

/Kermit is one of the very few performers who can get away with lip synching
// damnit, why didn't Jim Henson take better care of himself?

Pretty sure he was like a christian scientist, or at least raised that way.

Sadly he thought the great sky Muppet would heal him.

Wow, Jim, we miss you so much!

Brave as a Medal of Honor awardee, he was.  RIP, world-changing man

I read the Jim Henson biography. He was raised a Christian Scientist, but didn't follow it as an adult. He did go to the doctor, just not early enough there at the end.

From his wiki page:

Henson's wife Jane, from whom he was separated, came to visit and sat with him talking throughout the evening. At 2 am on May 15, Henson was having trouble breathing and began coughing up blood. He suggested to his wife that he might be dying, but did not want to bother going to the hospital. She later told People magazine that it was likely due to his desire not to be a bother to people.Although it is rumored that his Christian Science faith prevented him from visiting the hospital, his stepmother and others deny this, as he had ceased practicing 15 years prior.

He went to the hospital 2 hours later, and died the next day.

My brother and I saw him at Disney/MGM studios about a month before he died, working on one of his projects.  We were just in awe watching him.

Little known fact:  Rainbow Connection was written by Little Enos Burdette from Smokey and the Bandit.

Christ, that almost made me cry. I effin' loved the muppets growing up. Current batch... eh, not as much. Maybe they'll get better.
