Didn't he save Lee Marvin at Iwo Jima?

There's a hilarious blooper clip of him trying to put a tent up and he keeps failing hilariously and cussing up a storm. Go search it out. I'm at work or else I already would have and posted it.

39 confirmed kills in Korea. Has a tattoo on his forearm for each one. That's why he wore the sweaters. Can't believe you've been on the internets this long and don't know that.

A few years ago, we took a tour of the WQED studio (in Pittsburgh) where Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was filmed, and they had set up the old props for people to see.  We got to meet the man who played Mr. McFeely, as well.

It was pretty neat to see it all.  All around Pittsburgh, you can find props from the show.  He's still well loved here.

Do you have the video from his memorial where they are playing the theme song over loudspeakers on the Pittsburgh skyline? I think it was played in car horn or similar.

Please - I have seen some things in my life.  I can recognize a killer just from looking into his eyes.  Mr. Roger is clearly a pansy.  No disrespect to him, he's just not the kind of guy who would ever kill someone.  He's also not the kind of guy to get a tattoos.  Watch the show once and it's obvious.

I would bet my life on it - he was never a sniper and never had a tattoo.

No, he just stemmed his violent streak by engaging in puppet deathmatches after the cameras were turned off. The felted carnage was just terrible.

Whoah he died? You got a link that confirms it?

Also Mr.Rogers was a wonderful man and the world would be a much better place if we had more people like him.

One of the best Special Forces operators at the time.

39 confirmed kills, and 3 possible high priority targets.

After a stint as an instructor at scout sniper he used his GI Bill to start the 'Mr. Rogers' show.

His full-back tattoo was in memory of his brother, who died in '52 in a POW camp.

You are correct - those are rumors that surface periodically, he was never even in the military.

Fun facts:

His middle name was McFeely.

You can still catch Joe (Handyman) Negri playing fantastic jazz guitar at Andy's (Fairmont Hotel) in downtown Pgh every now and then.

He spoke to adults exactly the same way he spoke on his show. He wanted to know all about YOU, showed respect to all. When you walked away from conversing with him you were smiling and felt good about yourself.

He was the definition of A National Treasure.

I was half trolling - but I will say I've always found him a tiny bit-off putting.  I wasn't surprised to learn he was a religious speaker/

Is it coincidence that Fred Phelps bites it the same day? Phelps did protest Mr. Rogers funeral.

One of the few TV publicfigures who unquestionably deserves to be spared the troll and snark. He wasn't a combat vet- no kills. He was a devout vegetarianPresbyterian! Of the non proselytizing variety.  His true reality is alreadyawesome enough. No need to enhance/desecrate it.
