Oh, that's what happened to them.

Yes, artistic integrity is stupid.

"CELTIC FROST was much more than just a band to me. It was my life, my ideology and pretty much represented my entire being. Of course, I didn't want to see it destroyed again, so despite having all the inside information, I tried to disrupt its destruction and probably stayed too long even though it was fairly obvious that I couldn't face the band."

Yeah, what an asshole.

How does this rate the Dumbass tag? Dude made a perfectly sane decision. $ubby worship$ $$ above all el$e?

I guess that is dumb, but it's not exactly important enough to explode a Dumbass tag. Those things take a pounding.

Strangely enough, subby, there are people in this world who don't have money at the top of their priorities list.

$145k to reunite for one show. You have to hire the new musicians to fill the slots of members not returning. Rehearsal time and renting rehearsal space. Percentages to agents and managers. Whatever's left is split among the principal musicians, and taxed. Each principal musician may actually may end up with only $10k, or less, at which it may not be worth the hassle.

This exactly.

From a personal, selfish standpoint I would love to see CF back in classic 80s form, tho.

Seems like a pretty well-reasoned decision to me

Silly Earguy, this is FARK.   It's common knowledge 'round here that acts keep all the money that's collected at live shows.

Who is that guy that killed the music tab with his bullshiat?  I bet he had something to do with this.

I didn't even mention the show crew they'd have to pay, like guitar and drum techs. It may even be wrong to assumet that stage and roadie crews are provided by the festival.

On the plus side, nothing of value was lost by them not reuniting.

It's a shame they went out like they did.  "Monotheist" was a mountainous, epic slab of doom metal.  Tryptikon is OK, but it's just not as powerful.

Wow!!  I haven't heard that band name in 20+ years.

Fischer didn't completely rule out the possibility of a  CELTIC FROST reunion in the future, but made it clear that if were they ever to reform, it would have to be for the right reasons.

Translation:  I haven't run out of money ........... yet.

Are you talking death metal form ("Procreation of the Wicked") or pop metal form ("Cherry Orchards")?

I have no idea who Celtic Frost or any of those people are, but it sounds like he wouldn't lay down and spread his legs just for a paycheck. Exhibiting integrity merits a dumbass tag these days? Subby must be lacking in it.

Well, to be fair, the most artistic thing subby has probably ever created is flushed down his toilet each morning.

What an interesting article about Celtic Frost.  I now know more about Celtic Frost than I did before reading this Celtic Frost article.

I've over that and I never hear of them, heck I have knowledge of a lot of band and signers from back to the 20's... guess they never were that good, and are headed in the hipster pile.

You don't need to be 'artistic' to have integrity.

Celtic Frosted Flakes
S.O.D

What ever happened to Celtic Frost ?
Is it true that they got lost
In the pandemonium
Never to be seen again
Tom Warrior fell from a tree in cherry orchard
Martin Ain drowned in a cold lake
Reed St. Mark went to Mega Therion
And remains there 'till this day
Tom Warrior is waiting for the emperor's return
Martin Ain's trapped in the circle of tyrants
Reed St. mark was blinded in the crypt of rays
Where he remains 'till this day

I once went to a business owners' convention in Chicago.  There was a "things to do" calendar with addresses of all the museums and opera houses and the like.  Among them was a Celtic Frost concert.  I thought about getting a group together and going but pussed out and instead told the planner she might want to alert everyone they won't be hearing folk music if they attend.

Add me to the list of folks that hadnt thought about CF in twenty years.

/had a couple of their tapes

This. I think Tom should've asked for $300k, and played nothing but "Cold Lake" in its entirety.

The far more likely statement is that you don't know as much about music (metal specifically) as you think you do.

I saw them about 6/7 years ago and they were awesome

But I get that if you've been attempting to get the band back together for a year and it hasn't happened and then some guy says "Take this money!" and you know that it won't happen, and it'll all end up in front of the courts, it makes sense to just cut your losses.

The show would have been all Cold Lake, all the time.

How about... I just ain't in the metal stuff as much as some are, hence I've never heard of them.

Considering that in the 70s and 80s, it was a time were everyone and their dog would try and be a metal band, many being short lived, many having a limited, even local audience.

I'd same the same applies to (c)rap... odds are I probably wouldn't know many (c)rappers aside the mainstream ones.

But hey, if you need to feel better about yourself by being a dick and having to show some sort of superiority, knock yourself out.

I've yet to see anyone mention anything this band has done has being worthwhile, noticeable.  Only that they were a metal band.

They redid their whole thing because they were getting such a bad rep from musicians, labels, etc. over the trolling (as well as death threats trolls would post, overt racism, etc.). Since then, those trolls just moved on to the Terrorizer forums. And ohhhhhhh boy, it gets angsty, creepy and trolly as hell in there!

Or up it to $500k, and have him play that and his Prototype stuff back to back:

(it's WAY WAY worse than 'Cold Lake'!)

That would have a great troll headline if the band more popular. I also agreed with the dude. I applaud him for having some integrity. Also, he turned down almost 150, 000. It's like he was offered millions
