You'd have to be pretty goddamned callous to not care about something that happened on the other side of the planet to people you don't know, especially when it doesn't affect you in any way whatsoever.

Planes are always found in the last place you look.

Especially if the last place you look is the first place you look after having access to Thai radar data that tracked the plane to that place.

I hope the plane didn't hit a whale when it crashed into the ocean. Because that would be sad. Whales are magnificent, intelligent creatures, but still, they can't be expected to get out of the way when a Boeing 777 plunges out of the sky. It would happen too fast.

Wife asked where it might be. I told her most likely intact, since if it crashed, debris would be all over. I told her I thought if it ran out of fuel the result would be tyhe same, since if a jet landed in the water, passengers would flee like rats from a ship.
Insofar as family members grandstanding for the press, and saying the government is hiding the truth, yeah, what's the point in that?
I remember when I was little, 35-40 years ago, seems like gossly overloaded ferries were going down left and right. If the government can't manage that, what makes you think they'd care about a jet?
Seems like overall, their #1 commodity is people, and as you know, you gotta keep Vaal happy.
