While technically 5-7-5, they lacked the rhythm and flow of haiku, let alone the general form of the 1st two lines making a generalized statement, with the last providing a specific example. Or maybe that's the other way around. Meh. Either way, these were basically just descriptive sentences randomly edited into the specific syllabic structure of a haiku. So you can technically call them haiku, but safe to say very poor haiku.
