The NFL initially filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against the 38-year-old singer for damages and tarnishing the league's reputation

Didn't the NFL hire a known dog torturer?

Show of hands, how many of you have ever heard of MIA doing ANYTHING since the Super Bowl performance?  I mean, I know I don't listen to pop on a regular basis, but I seriously don't think I've ever heard her on the radio....

Hell, i remember when people said she was the next "it" girl in music and nothing happened after that single of hers. I guess you could say it showed on a couple soundtracks, but that's about it.

I haven't heard anything about her since the Superbowl in 2012. It's almost as if she's ...

Never mind. Too obvious.

Looks like the NFL finally realized she's married to a billionaire.

In September 2013 Maya released a video statement regarding the lawsuit. In her statement Arulpragasam said, "They're basically [saying] it's OK for me to promote being sexually exploited as a female, than to display empowerment, female empowerment, through being punk rock. That's what it boils down to, and I'm being sued for it."

LOL.

Never heard of MIA before the super bowl. And I guess the NFL sues the rapists and other criminals in its ranks as well, right?

Even $1.5 million is a bit much for flipping off anyone who was actually watching that "performance".

I think the suit is crazy and almost hypocritical, but I can see why the NFL wants to keep pursuing it.  It was flippant of her to just do this on live TV in front of a very large family audience, and for her to think she can just get away with it has got to be irritating.  Sue her into farking obscurity - oh, too late.

M.I.A's biggest single Paper Planes

Born Free SNSFW

Not at all the type of music I'd normally listen to, but she's a pretty cool character who actually has something to say. And good for her for fighting the lawsuit, I hope she wins.
