Really?  Because the NY SAFE Act was signed into law just 19 hours after it was introduced in a late night session to they NYS Senate.

They can move fast if they want to.

That's just pushing papers. That they're exceptionally good at. Reading the papers they just pushed, not so much. A state legislator's life is mighty full. There's bribes to take, interns to molest...people have no idea how stressful it is.

The important thing to remember is that that other guy started it, and he's the one that is more like Hitler anyway.

No one is a Nazi. Rich people aren't German Jews. Leaders aren't Hitler. Anyone, on either side, who thinks otherwise should be disregarded.

The safe act is one of the worst legislative messes ever produced in the history of governance.  No matter which side of the gun control debate you are on.

No but if you and me are hunting and I ask you to get my gun out of the truck and hand it to me you have just committed a felony.  Kind of stupid huh?  Basically it made normal gun handling and ownership a felony.  It is that bad a law.

Because the only people in the history of the parliamentary system who have ever pushed legislation through while no one was looking before that were the Nazis.

"I hope it's not working," Langone said about vilification of the One Percent. "Because if you go back to 1933, with different words, this is what Hitler was saying in Germany. You don't survive as a society if you encourage and thrive on envy or jealousy."

And yet that's exactly the kind of society you've created here in America. When you treat people as if they are fungible commodities, deny them a living wage, and then go on CNBC or Faux News and rail on them for being poors and having a goddamn refrigerator, don't be surprised when a poor person sees you drive up in your Bentley and thinks, "Hmm maybe I should stick that asshole's head on a pike."

In other words, when you treat people like animals, don't be surprised if they start acting like animals.

To dial down the rhetoric a bit, I would like some metaphorical heads. Put some of these bankers in jail for their actions. There's no way after everything that was done in Wall Street that several people aren't responsible for criminal activities. Find them and prosecute them.

Technically the Nazis first dismantled the parliamentary system, then pushed things through while everyone was looking.

And they are so goddamned arrogant, they think it is all rooted in envy and jealousy. They don't even see it's people saying "hey, do you mind NOT taking a shiat on my head while you live your life, and let me go about trying to better mine? Nobody shiat on your head on the way up, so just... let me have a chance."

Railing against living wages, trying to take away aid to people who need it most, acting as if people aren't really poor if they have things like a cell phone (really, a necessity to get a job, and even iPhones can be had for free if you take a 4S and sign a monthly contract... something only those of us who are trying to get a leg up in this world know because we look into ways to get our necessities and comforts as affordably as possible)

Nobody is running around being jealous and envious, they just want these assholes to shut up and stop actively trying to hurt the ever-shrinking middle class and the poor in this country. Instead, they continue, and then cry because people don't say nice things about them.

Exactly.  I don't care how much they have, but I do care when they worry about how little I have and try to make me have less.  Railing against the rich is more self-defense than envy.

Especially when they have as much power as they do. I don't envy the Koch brothers, for example. I'm sure having their money would be nice - but not if it cost me my goddamned humanity, compassion, and ability to care for other people. And certainly not if it made me influence the government in almost actively evil agendas that I believed in.

A lot of these people are seriously messed up.  The thing is, if they lost it all tomorrow, they'd have no idea what to do. You could teach a poor man to be rich, but you could never teach a rich man to be poor.

The republicans weren't called Nazi's. In the article the democratic Hitler reference was a valid complaint about how a conservative bishop called the push for gay marriage Hitler.

Oddly enough, The Concentration Camp turned out to be where ADHD children went to work on improving their ability to focus on tasks.
