Hey we played this game a while ago, Russia. It was called the Cold War, and the West won.

But good luck going down this path again. Enjoy your bread lines and Tartar terrorists.

Russia is a shiatty corrupt kleptocracy that is surviving only on its oil and gas reserves.

Its like Slavic Venezuela.

Psst...Tovarich...Alan Ginsberg was a gay Jew....

Yeah he says that now and you know the right is going to jizz about it.  Just like they'd have jizzed over the Iraq information minster's rosy outlook if Obama was Pres during that.

Everything about that article is headache-inducing from the weird logos, colors and fonts to the broken English of the Russian quotes.

What worked in Iran? They are playing north Korea's game. They lose a month of enrichment time, big deal. They have already started putting some new facilities on the non inspection list. Iran gave up virtually nothing. They are still enhancing their enrichment capabilities.

For some reason that reminds me of a joke they did on The Office where that douchey nephew said his 2 favorite movies of all time are Citizen Kane and Boondock Saints. Like a bullshiat list carefully crafted to influence people's perception of you rather than just naming stuff you like.

Relax. We let that East vs. West thing go 15 years ago. you should, too.

It's Cuba.  So really Russian oligarchs can travel there easier than US citizens.  Visa bans won't help there.

That's it mister. You're not getting Tupac's next 5 unreleased albums he's currently working on with Biggie in a bunker under Las Vegas.

Eh no, the West didn't win. The Soviet Union picked up the ball and went home, through no action or influence of the West.

I think it would be more accurate to say they mismanaged their teams resources until they all collapsed of starvation on the field.  Less pick up more fall down.  But I agree the actual influence of the West is VASTLY overstated.

Just because we outlasted the Soviet Union's Financial ability to continue to be a stain on the face of the earth, doesn't mean that we "Won". If anything we lost because we never got the hint that maintaining a militaristic posture forever is detrimental to our society. We're going to lose in the same way, just take longer to implode.

Well, we sort of did.

See, Clinton did a decent amount of force reduction, abandoned the 1000 ship Navy concept (thank god, raw numbers is a stupid way to base a navy), did a hefty amount of base closures, etc. etc.

No, the problem is Clinton got the ball rolling and then Bush not only stopped it, he reversed course.

I wonder if we'll create a new version of Stuxnet, except instead of shutting down their nuclear centrifuges, it shuts down VKontakte. No more Tupac for you, comrade!

Not to mention we're currently reducing force yet again under Obama and more and more Americans have wised up to the idea that policing the world and participating in wars everywhere on the globe is a loser's game.

And no offense to Ukraine but you guys should have seen this coming for miles.

Oh if Apple had control of the world...

This Russian's statement that he could listen to Tupac without travelling to America would be null and void if Apple decided unilaterally to remotely wipe all American content from all the iPads and iPhones in Russia.

With the addictive quality of these devices, imagine the furore which could ensue over THAT little move!
