(Telegraph)   Professor Hawking claims victory in Big Bang bet with Professor Turok. To be fair, it's hard to focus on science when you're so busy killing dinosaurs   (telegraph.co.uk) divider line 33

The acclaimed theoretical physicist told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the discovery proves his theory of "inflation" in the early universe, and shows Professor Neil Turok, another space expert, is wrong in his belief that there are a series of Big Bangs in a cyclic universe.

They could still both be right in a universe with periodic cyclic localized inflation...

Just because you can see the edge of the bubble does not mean there are no other bubbles.

/Despite being panned as "Dances with Blue People" by some, I thought it was a good movie.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the super genius cosmologist. I don't tell the mechanic how to fix my car, I don't tell the painter how to paint my house, and I don't tell my theoretical physicists how to imagine the infinite.

Why not? Obviously, they (physicists)* can be wrong.

Let me put it another way: I'm not going to invest the time necessary to become enough of an expert in auto repair or quantum mechanics to have an informed opinion, so I'm going to leave it to the experts - not because they're infallible, but because it'll take another expert to offer a reasonable dissent from what I'm being presented with

Hunting would imply you can see through the fog far enough to dispatch a dino from a distance.  Instead, Turok fights dinosaurs, as if that makes any sense.

If you're talking about the old N64 ones, no way. Those games rocked.

If you're talking about that 360/PS3 abortion, maybe. I made it about 2 levels in before I said fark it. It was just so generic and bad.
