Pretty sure the players are doing more damage than any half-time show could ever hope to do

Gosh, totally forgot about reading that that happened. Good job burying that 'offensive' gesture by issuing p.r. statements about it.

Yes, because nothing screams "wholesome" like a sport that revolves around gigantic muscular man-machines smashing each other's brains into a thin paste for 3 hours.

You know what I don't get,  why the people in support of tort reform don't use examples like this to make their case.  Defending doctors who ruin lives is a horrible PR move, but using examples of billion dollar companies suing little people for absurd amounts,  You would gain a ton more supporters of reforming the tort system.  Same with the RIAA,  hold them up as examples of abusing the court system.

That's racist.

When rich white boy Bud Adams flipped the double bird during a game, he was only fined 250k.

Bird flipping link.  Not safe if you work at PETCO.

If they want "wholesome", why not televise the Punt Pass and Kick finals at Super Bowl halftime?  Why not a Battle of the Marching Bands?  How about featuring some champion cheerleader squad? Up With People?   "Duh, no, den we coul'n't justify outrageous ticket prices or ad rates..."

WHY the hell did they remove that from the MNF halftime show?  That stuff is pure awesome for kids, it even makes this surly farker smile.

NFL Plan to Make Pocket Change

1) Get Super Bowl performers to sign on to do the halftime show for free
2) Sue the artists after they try to grab some attention for themselves during their 12 minutes of fame.
3) ...
4) Profit

Wait, does the NFL fine its players and coaches every time they are caught on camera flipping the bird? This lawsuit against MIA is a heavily biased cash grab.

There is no difference between the actions of the NFL, RIAA and the Mafia.  Other than the extortion is being done through the use of the courts guns instead of individual gangsters.

F*ck the NFL and everyone/everything associated with it.

Well the only reason the they made the halftime show a big thing was because other networks would put shows on at that time just to snag viewers away. I think what made them go for the big halftime show was when In Living Color did a halftime show and even put a countdown clock in the corner of the screen so you wouldnt miss the game. I think Girls Gone Wild did a show as well on pay per view.

The way the halftime shows have been over the past few years, I bet there's still a market out there.

NFL is all about the lawsuit.  Gosh, sometimes it's like they only talk to people with subpeonas.

Giants Stadium has this ridiculous mall going up next to it here, and the teams are suing the developers to try to force them out.  Apparently they are concerned that if anyone goes to the Meadowlands other than to watch their events, they will have to admit that their parking situation is a giant pit of insanity lined with cash.

"Totally OK to give an athelete a lifetime brain injury, but park outside the fence and you are dead to us."

I hope the white-shoe attorney representing the NFL in this case feels like the self-important little corporate whore that s/he is. $16 million for a hand gesture? What's most interesting is that the NFL's history of producing felons is relevant in terms of damages, for just how much does a middle finger damage an organization riddled with the image issues that face the NFL? Hey NFL lawyer, set time in your schedule to reply to 100+ requests for admission.

Never felt popular music and football fit well together. Rock/pop at its best is about transgression. Football, NFL in particular, is about absolute toeing of the line.

Freaks and jocks don't mesh.

Geez. I really don't need any more reasons to avoid the modern WNFL. Probably mandate pink uniforms for every team next year, anyway. I'd flip off the WNFL too, if I had the chance.

It's pretty sad when you're a former NFL QB, and the first result of a GIS of you is in your prison jumpsuit. Whatever state he was sentenced in, I love that they still do the old-timey black and white-striped prison jumpsuits.

Lol, wholesome image. Sssshhhheeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiitttttt. Slut puppy cheerleaders. National Felony League. Homo-erotic Superbowl halftime shows. Eminent domain crooks using public money for private profits through open blackmail. Brain damaged and crippled former players ain't their problem, Jack.
