So this new mayor of New York is causing ODS in people of all stripes. He's being called a failure before his first year is up.

Liberal media and so forth

That guy is as corrupt as fark.  He's one of the few that I would actually vote for the (R) over him, especially given the House is in (R) hands anyways.  Here's hoping he loses the primary.

That's not the problem with Rangel. He's a known crook whose electorate is either too ignorant or doesn't care enough to vote him out of office. He's exhausted all his goodwill with even his strongest allies in the House, but is still convinced he has the moral authority and/or silver tongue to be a leader in the party.

Never count out the "Stick-it-to-The-Man" vote tied with bringing home the bacon.  That's what keeps Marion Barry in DC politics.

Black Democrats are immune from the law.  His constituents will vote for him regardless because he looks like them. Disagree with me? His career is proof that they use race and only race when determining a candidate in the low-information/education areas of the city.

The Democrat Party leadership will not dare publicly condemn a black Democrat for corruption. Don't believe me? Look at his career. He was not at all pressured to step down from his position by the party after his crookedness was revealed. They will not dare have the race card thrown at them and be called racists.

Even Bill Clinton was called a racist by the PC crowd for choosing to campaign for his wife over Obama.

Until people like this are publicly shamed and tar and feathered by their party, you know they have no integrity or honesty and are now worth considering for anything ever.

He is being avoided not (but not publicly shamed) because he dared to not campaign for these particular candidates.

Why? If Rangel's constituents don't care about his age, why should the opinions of anyone else matter?

There are no Republican indiscretions.  If a Republican does something illegal, Fox News immediately turns him into a democrat.

If the constituents of a district continue to send corrupt and/or incompetent representatives to congress, it is the civic duty of the electorate to gerrymander the HELL out of that district as an example to the others.

If it is a senator that is corrupt and/or incompetent, let the political party be forbidden from presenting a candidate for one election cycle.

Any complaints to this system will result with the entire congress to be replaced by trained circus seals.

FTFY

For the record, the corrupt politicians belong to whichever party is in power, which is hardly surprising, as the party not in power has nothing to offer in return for the corruption.  The real difference is that, unlike Republicans, national Democrats don't try to institutionalize the corruption when they're in power.  (Obviously, at the local level, machines gonna machine.)
