So, now Glenn Beck doesn't like when people get picked on? Anybody heard from the Tides Foundation yet?

If Glenn Beck agreeing with you doesn't prove you have mental issues, nothing will.

Seems like he is just using it to point out the absurdity of building 17 kinds of bathrooms, or however many new genders that are being claimed.

Of course Glenn doesn't mind a My Little Pony backpack. He's had one in the trunk of his car since 1990.

I don't get this... He's biatching and moaning about LGBT people, yet he wants the kid to be protected for his pony preference? I mean, I don't care, but this really makes no sense, especially the way he keeps throwing references to restrooms in there,.

Oh, I doubt that. It's early and many Fark Bronies are not even up yet.

Did he really transition from biatching about people wanting different bathrooms for those who might be gender confused to saying he supports tolerance for those who are true to themselves even if it makes them different and that people need to have courage to stand up for themselves even if it's against what society says?

Derpy indeed.

I hate Glenn Beck for what he did to TV news and politics coverage, but he's not wrong for pointing out that it's the bullies creating a disruption. The backpack is just their excuse for focusing on that particular kid, so demanding that he change his behavior is ass-backwards, especially for something both inoffensive and trivial.

/Honestly curious which he'd pick as best pone though

I'm confused here. Honestly, what does gender identity have to do with bathroom use? We generally sort that purely by genetics, where gay males are not allowed in to female bathrooms.

It's partially a simple issue of plumbing, and biological needs.

2014-03-18 11:15:42 AM
Nine-year old children aren't capable of the abstract thinking required not to ostricize a kid who acts or dresses in an atypical fashion. Teaching the kid not to bring in his weird backpack is the best way to protect him from bullies, who cannot be reasoned with.

Besides, bullying and aggression are strongly-correlated with social and financial success and status later in life, as our society shows. Bullying should be encouraged amongst students.

As for Glenn Beck spouting some nonsense that almost resembles and agreement with my general position, eventually he had to get something right.

Honestly I have no idea what Beck was ranting about as he just kept mentioning special bathrooms.  There was a law passed in California last year that would allow transgender students to choose which bathroom/locker room they'd use.  As far as plumbing and biological needs, my wife and I use the same bathroom and the toilet manages to somehow accommodate both of our biological needs.  Though that wouldn't need special bathrooms.

Glen Beck is okay with same sex marriage. He might biatch about transgender bathrooms for first graders but doesn't care what adults do.

Some people want extra gender neutral bathrooms to be built on campuses where students with the other plumbing type are barred from using the bathroom for the other kind if they want to.

So they're requesting more unisex bathrooms?  Wow, I thought it was something more than that based of the 'special bathrooms' thing.  Sort of makes sense to me, if not just for transgender or whatever students, but college campuses also probably have people with children attending, would make sense for there to be more gender neutral/family bathrooms.

Still weird that he segued from down on special bathrooms to up on individual lunchbox rights like that.

In other words, the boy with the backpack is smart enough to be taught not to do something, but the people without the backpack aren't smart enough to be taught not to do something?

Both sets of people are nine-year old children, so please explain your contradiction to me.

My 3 year old son watches this show. I know it has adult fans, but I don't get it at all, didn't do anything for me and I'm a big cartoon guy.

His favorite one is "The Diamond One." I don't know why, feels like the rainbow one Is more entertaining. Isn't the diamond one the high maintenance biatch?

If you're going to wear a My Little Pony backpack to school, you better know how to fight.  Or, you can learn as you go, you will get lots of practice.  Parents and school teachers aren't going to change that.

A shame that we can't properly ostracize grown men that watch TV cartoons made to sell toys to little girls.

Most shows, that would be the case. She's a deal more three-dimensional in being both an enterprising fashionista and a long-suffering elder sister. She's also been demonstrated to try and put the needs of others in front of her own, hence being "the element of Generosity." The reason I personally like her is because her dignified air makes her a great comedic foil, and Tabitha St. Germain does an astonishing job with her voicework.

In other words, I'd consider any of the six to be decent role models because they're all flawed in their own way, and the show never tries to tell the kids that any of them is the single right way to behave as a person. It's okay to be a tomboy, or to be shy, or to be smart.

Yeah, that's exactly why I said that I didn't, made an assumption based on what he did say, was corrected and then learned about what he did, which didn't invalidate my original thought which was to say it was weird how he segued into a defense about intolerance after mocking the idea of special bathrooms.

I think he meant that... in a woman's bathroom. The ladies do not have to worry about checking if the seats are left up. Now, if a "gender confused" person can pick which bathroom they want to use. Then that means some men who think they are woman will go into the woman's bathroom and leave the seat up.

That could lead to this:
