brantgoose: When I was in Geneva, Switzerland, the river Rhone was green all of the time. It was so full of algae from being over-fertilized that it was opaque aquamarine. And we think our rivers are polluted. You can see into the water of most rivers that I know, except those that have a lot of iron in them and are named something like Black River or Black Brook.
