Well there goes that.

His idea of quitting drinking is calling a cab and going home for the night.

This may be entertaining, but he's hardly a hero.

It's not like anyone believed him anyway. He is a known liar and his lies have already been exposed in the media repeatedly.

His base will still vote for him, assuming he doesn't do something unthinkable, like show up at a gay pride parade. Because he may be a big, loud, fat, lying, obnoxious crackhead trainwreck, but at least he's not one of those elitist ivory tower tax'n'spend liebruls.

the whole family is an advertisement for retroactive birth control.

I agree, however, he can't seem to manage his image, nor does he care. People in Canada (as far as I know) have not even tried to get him out of his position, and I find that funny.

Get him out of his position with what? A forklift? There's no way to boot a sitting mayor in Toronto unless he's convicted of a crime (or possibly just charged with a crime, not sure on that one). We changed all the locks at City Hall, and now we're just waiting around for the next election. Unless the police are sitting on something, that's all we can do.

He's cost the city billions in unaffordable subway promises and cancelling reasonable taxes. And he and his retarded brother inherited a business worth millions. But he's just the average guy, saving us money.

The only thing stupider than Rob Ford are his supporters. Good thing 50% of the population is below average intelligence.

the educated canuckstanians in Torantonia are trying. the problem is the uneducated trailer trash that think he is the real deal actually wade out of their vomit filled baby factories long enough to vote for the clown.
the "readers" don't vote because it's supposedly "pointless"...

my prognostication is that a crazed fan will off Ford and get caught with a copy "Catcher in the Rye" on hand....

I know several educated Torontonians (actual Toronto residents, not Scarb or Etobicoke etc) who voted for him.   They liked his ideas.  They just didn't realize at the time they were electing a buffoonish alcoholic wife-beating druggie who hangs out with gang bangers.  They also all seem to realize now that "having a good idea" is not the same as "having the ability and the political skill to implement your good idea".

Ford will get 20-something percent of the vote in October.  Not enough to win.  Possibly enough to siphon votes away from John Tory.

There's a lot of anecdotal evidence and some circumstantial evidence.  But, there's not much hard evidence.

The man's worth $50 mil and has access to the slimiest lawyers available.  When the crown goes up against him, the case has to be airtight.  Frankly, a video of Ford holding what appears to be a crack pipe won't do it. In the end, I don't know if they'll ever be able to convict Ford with drug charges.  To get rid of Ford, we'll need something more Capone-esque.

Sold the bar along with the license.

Last smoking bar in town that would let you smoke cigars. And the last smoking bar that served real beer. And the last smoking bar where you weren't likely to get stabbed.

and Doug Ford will be standing over the body continuing to spew deflection and lies.

"What? That's not Rob's puke. I've never seen Rob puke. Alcohol? Anybody could have put that empty vodak bottle in his hand after he died. I don't think this affects the election at all. The Real People of Toronto will still vote for Rob, because even dead, he's going to do what he was elected to do: return phone calls and save this city billions of dollars. What? Oh, and I guess you've never woken up dead, in an alley, behind a crackhouse, in a puddle of puke, with an empty vodak bottle in your hand and a meth-head street-walker crushed beneath your bloated corpse? C'mon. We've all been there..."

And Doug Ford was promptly and swiftly proven as a liar like less than a minute after he said this.

Bill_Wick's_Friend: They just didn't realize at the time they were electing a buffoonish alcoholic wife-beating druggie

I can excuse the whole "hanging out with gangs" thing, but Ford's buffoonery and alcoholism was well-known to the city long before he became mayor.  To anyone who's been paying attention, they knew exactly what they were getting - a drunken bully who thinks that being the loudest is the same as being right.

Plus the rumours of him beating his wife have been circulating for years.  How many 911 calls have there been to his house?

I used to date a toronto EMS dispatcher. she could probably find out how many 911 calls there've been. Whether she WILL, i don't know.
