13%

Russia's top oil producer Rosneft was set to acquire a 50 percent shareholding of a company which holds 26.2 percent of Pirelli, ending with a 13 percent stake in the tyremaker.

Most OEM tires suck. They are usually bought (exceptions would be particularly high performing cars) because they're cheap for the automaker to buy, not because they're the best ones.

I have had them on my Porsche, my RX 8 and multiple VWs and they suck.
My fault.  I don't learn my lesson. They suck.  I see the ads and think. "Hey. I need those".
And then they start being all sucky and then I think. "I will never
buy another set of Pirellis.  Then
my owners manual, like on my Porsche, says "Hey
dumbass, go buy more Pirellis".  So I do and then they suck.

They sure do suck.

might be the driver and not the tires.  If you want a soft ride get Michelin. Do you really think Porsche is going to put a tire on their vehicle that doesn't handle well.

if you want a soft ride and/or high mileage get Michelin and don't buy a high performance sports car.

I had a few vehicles with Pirellis; they were very good.

Good move, I guess, but it probably still won't help Caterham and Vitaly Petrov get any points this season.

This could be very good or very bad for the annual calendar.
