A few years ago I started looking for this on everything I buy. If I see this, I usually don't buy it.

Particularly if the word "power" is involved.  I tried using Dig-E-Power replacement batteries for my Rebel XT and Rebel XS - they didn't give me anywhere near the life of name brand batteries, even when new, and wore out quickly.  At least my charger would recognize them, though - I picked up a Lenmar at the local hardware store (yes, yes, I know, buying digital camera batteries at a hardware store is a bad idea) and the charger was all "WTF?"  Waste of money.

In my experience, it does NOT matter what the product is. If it was made in China, it is in some way substandard.

LOL.

Like all the components inside it won't be made in China anyways. Where do you think all their subcomponents come from?

/you don't put capacitors from glorious Nippon in a jumper box.

Perhaps you missed the part where they actually put it together in China. Yep, I'm saying their manufacturing is substandard and that they will substitute substandard (cheaper) parts when they want.
