64 is pretty young to die, though probably 30 years or so longer than anyone expected any of the original Stooges to last. More surprising, I think, is the fact that Iggy outlasted all of them.

If my drummer died more than just my tits would be mournful.

Lust for Life, subby?  That dude is doing fine...

Really hated to hear this, though, since they were still turning out awesome music last year...

Iggy is the American Keith Richards.

I was not really surprised, having seen Iggy for the first time in 1980 (when he was still farked up on stage and would roll around in sharp things and display his trouser snake) that his "moves" have never really changed since 1970, which truly is another friggin' country.

Nice to see him before he got in touch with his inner Sinatra.

There are very few genuine badasses in rock n'roll. Most of the more famous ones are really, behind the curtains, pants-wetting mama's boys who drop like a sack of flour [hellooooo kitty-litter-carrying man, among others]. Rock Action, however, is [still can't say "was"] a genuine badass. And a hella drummer, to boot. Of the current Stooges, he is THEE one that best carries the flag and exemplifies their punk rock F-U en extremis. He used to scare the shiat out of everyone, ha ha ha. Cuz they knew he would back it up. Biker tough. And then some.

/hopin' you & Ron have good times now
//gonna pull some Stooges & SRB records out and add a little more damage to my ears
