I think we're all just waiting on Captain America: The Winter Soldier at this point.

I don't have much hope for Aaron Paul's post-Breaking Bad career.  He can probably become a very successful character actor, but he's not going to be a leading man.

I heard a commercial where they said the movie was about a boy and his dog.  NOT! It's about a dog and his boy.  I need to go see it.

Saw Need for Speed last night. It was fairly decent but nothing to write home about.

It was actually surprisingly good.  These remakes of classics can always go either "Really Good" or "Completely Terrible" with very little in between.  This one thankfully falls into the former.

My wife wanted to see the "300" sequel, so we spent the evening watching hairless nearly-nude oiled muscular gladiators slash each other.

If you like puns, the new Mr Peabody movie is a doggone good time

Just how Bryan Cranston was always going to be the dad from "Malcolm in the Middle".

For every one of those cases, you have how many Michael Richards or "That Guy Who Played Al on Home Improvement?"

I saw Peabody and Sherman yesterday, and I think I enjoyed it even more  than the two nine year-olds I took with me. And FWIW I never saw the original cartoon.

Need for Speed was stupid but watchable.

It's cliche as fark.

Saw the new Veronica Mars movie, definitely as good as a lot of the critics are saying. It was a good reminder of how good the show was. Either go to the theater or hit it up on VOD/iTunes, etc and give it a rent.

My wife wanted to see NFS last night, and it was so stupid I literally felt like I had lost my college education right there in the theater. Good thing I have hookups at the movie house and don't pay, or I'd be angry at my wife.

I haven't seen anything recently.

NFS isn't being helped with only 2 showings a day at the 5 theaters within 25 miles of me, while other movies at these same theaters have hourly shows.

I'll say it again - watching Eva Green own every scene she's in makes that movie worth it.

NFS was significantly better than I was expecting, but still doesn't hold a candle to the last three Fast & Furious movies. I wrote a mini-review in an earlier topic. I'll repost later.

I saw The Grand Budapest Hotel yesterday at the Landmark Ritz 5 noted in TFA. Intended to get tickets for an 8-ish showing, sold out completely until the 9:45 and 9:55 showings. Well worth the wait, and the weather wasn't too cold for some strolling around the area to kill time. Really enjoyed the film.

2014-03-16 03:25:14 PM
I was old enough to have seen the original and all but forgotten 95%, so I just sat down and watched it cold. I enjoyed the new version more than my 4 year old niece, and that was a refreshing surprise.

Thanks for not raping my childhood Hollywood!

Saw the new 300 movie, and it was much better than I expected it to be. Eva Green totally stole the show.

She should be Marvel's top pick for a live-action Elektra, that chick absolutely nails revenge driven insanity
