I'm disappointed to find out that "Purrim" isn't a cat holiday.

Cause we need a holiday involving drunk cats.

/I may be drunk right now

Mid_mo_mad_man: Isn't this the gentile baby killing holiday ?

Not only is that an anti-semetic lie that has no basis in reality, that's also not until next week.

St.Patty's

Why do so many people do this?

Patrick -> Paddy
Patricia -> Patty

It's not bloody St. Patricia's Day, is it?!

I went to my 1st Purim service last night. :) I attended my 1st Erev Shabat service back in December, and went to a 2nd one last week. And a couple weekends ago, I went to my 1st Bar Mitzvah. I am also in the middle of learning Hebrew...as an actual language and not just liturgically.

rzrwiresunrise: It's the holiday where we're supposed to remember that the Jews foiled a Persian plot to kill them, but we're supposed to forget that when given the opportunity via a blank edict by the Persian king, the Jews opted to kill nearly 100,000 Persians suspected of anti-Jewish sentiment or intentions.

Thanks for reminding us that to some people when jews strike back at people who are trying to kill them, it is wrong.

Who cares about that crap!
 Is there an LGBT chapter represented in this Purim year?
Why should St. Paddy get all the fun?

Jews have some of the best holidays. They also have some of the weirdest, most miserable sounding holidays. My wifes old boss was an Orthodox Jew and every year he had to go live in a tent or something in his backyard for like a week. WTF is the point of that?
