Dr Jack Badofsky: Dr Jack Badofsky: Waldo Pepper: Put tires on a guy's 1969 Ferrari 365GTC Coupe a couple years ago. Only had 12,500 miles on it. Arrived to the shop on a flatbed and left the shop after the new tires were installed on a flatbed.

one of the sweetest sounding cars i've have ever heard.

One of the sweetest sounding "V8"'s I ever heard was a Ducati (966 maybe?) back in the 1990's on the 91fwy  in SoCal.  I heard that motor approaching for a while, and could not pinpoint what was making that noise.  Then the bike passed me at about 50mph or so (traffic was busy, but not too heavy), and it was such a wonderful sound.

P.S. I know it's a V-twin, but man that thing sounded like the smoothest V8 I ever heard.

They sound wonderful till you pull in the clutch...

Then you'd think someone threw a handful of nuts and bolts in a Vitamix blender.

wildcardjack: Hmm, wanna bet it got garaged in, oh lets just say, the arab oil embargo of 1973.

Actually, he garaged it because he was terrified of "damaging" it.  So it just sat there, pristine and unused, until he died, with no one to pass it to.

The state, and whoever they auction it to, will be happy that it ended that way, but that shiat is pretty much just mental illness.

It's a strange way to get pleasure out of owning a car, to just visit it in the garage. I wonder if he would sit in it and make vroom vroom sounds?

Damn.  Amazing these rare cars keep popping up like this.  Makes me think that Hitler Benz limo might just be still sitting somewhere in Russia just waiting to be put back together.
