ciberido: I would have gone with "Macho Pico," personally.

To expound, "pico" is slang for "penis."

There's a story of a gringa who went into a bar in Santiago and loudly ordered a pisco sour, only she screwed up and said "pico" instead of "pisco," so she basically asked for a "sour penis."

Not that I know any such person.  It's just a story.

Bad idea.  There's native caterpillars down there that are poisonous/venomous (I forget which, but either way, it's a crappy way to go)  if you step on them barefoot.

You really shouldn't streak in llama areas...

i34.tinypic.com

A male llama's mouth is nothing short of a death trap. At around 2 years of age, it will develop a total of six fighting teeth. There are two upper and one lower blade sharp teeth on each side. When male llamas are threatened, they bring out those secret weapons. In fights with other male llamas, they often aim their teeth at the "junk" area, and have been known to castrate their opponent.

More evidence that Canada wants to wrestle the "rudest tourists" trophy from Americans.

Comments are already closed, and judging by the first thread I saw, I can see why. Some people...

That said, I think it's a fair bet that the modern streak (lame, I know) of streakers are nowhere near what it was like when the city was at its peak.

So "pico de gallo" would translate to rooster penis? That's not really how I make pico, but hey man, different strokes....

I hollered out to Consuela "Don't look, Consuela!" but it was too late - she'd already been Montezuma'd.

The thrill of doing something insane in a place like that. Fairly rare form of bragging rights. It'd be akin to streaking the Roman Colosseum or Angkor Wat. Gives you a hell of a story to tell at parties, especially if you have photographic proof.

Several of us had salmonella while in Peru and one of our guys had a pretty big blowout on the side of the mountain. He attempted to chuck his TP off the side of the mountain and it blew back and stuck to one of the statues. Not that I condone this behavior, but it was pretty funny.

So you're saying the llama zone could also be called...

Or, perhaps, the Lana zone.

"Pico" is literally "beak," so "pico de gallo" literally means "rooster's beak."   Wikipedia says it "is named thus because originally people ate it by pinching pieces between the thumb and forefinger."

"Pico" is  slang for penis because penis ... beak .... pecker.  There you go.

It's true.  Lamas are dangerous, so if you see one where people are swimming, you shout "Look out! There are Llamas!"

AFAIK that's only in Chile. Positive about central America (where it's just beak or "a few", as in "veinte y pico"). Not sure about Peru.

Perhaps, but as Chile is more important that the rest of South America, it hardly matters how their slang works, you see :-P
