"Kids shoot somebody in New Orleans and when the police find out the victim isn't dying, they charge the shooter with aggravated battery," DeSalvo said. "But if you hit a lawyer with a car, it's attempted murder? I don't get that."

Oh my, he doesn't sound like a very good lawyer.

Attempted murder? Now honestly what is that? Do they give a noble prize for attempted chemistry?

wow, reading that article was...exhausting. I guess it was written because dude had something to do with root beer at some point. and further more I refuse to google federal Road Home fraud. I can only assume it is a thing, and Patrick Swayze is somehow involved

I like Barq's. It makes the best root beer floats.

This story has the makings of a great TV soap along the lines of Dallas.

If you like purchasing colas in 12 ounce quantities, thank Barq's.  When Coke was selling theirs in 6.5 oz containers, Barq's was selling in 8 oz.  When coke moved to 8 oz, Barq switched to 10 oz.  When coke started bottling in 10 oz, Barq moved to 12 oz.  After that, the 12 oz can became the industry standard.

/collected Barq's bottles when I was a kid and turned them in for the deposit to buy more Root Beer.  I was 8 years old before I realized there were other root beers on the market.

Barqs has caffeine, a crucial chemical that all of Fark loves

Figures that if Fark has beer snobs, it would also have root beer snobs.

Barq's isn't Root Beer. It's a glorious caffeinated soda that when consumed in gluttonous quantities, as I used to do, is part of the fast track to Type 2 Diabetes, as I now have. After six years of avoiding sugar and not having a single sugary soft-drink, it's Barq's that I miss the most.
