No! Cannon Ball Run 1 & 2, hell even Smokey and the Bandit did not take themselves seriously. They were making a goofy comedies and that just happened to feature fast cars and hot women with barely any plot and some really funny jokes.

Rebooting or even creating a sequel to Cannon Ball or the Bandit would be awesome if they did not insist on the BSG treatment. You know all serious and dark with a real plot and shiat. Hot women, fast cars, funny jokes in a cheesy movie that did not take itself seriously that is Cannon Ball Run.
