I have been cigarette free for about 2 years now and in the past week or two the back of my mind has suddenly decided to pay closer attention to cig ads and say mmmmmm that would be nice right now.  Then I drown the voices with beer and they stop  though I am questioning if this is a proper coping mechanism while filling my truck up with gas.

I'm glad that my brain has gotten to the point where I can go days, weeks, or months without and its not a big deal to me in my day to day, but out in a social situation I can partake and it doesn't make a difference. Took a LONG time to get there (and a marriage to a wife who wouldn't put up with it anyway).

Here's a nice earworm - just for you, subby.

/That headline will not be easy for recent quitters.

My ADHD was my greatest ally when quitting the death sticks.

The smell of cigarette smoke makes me gag.  Thinking of smoking reminds me of the last pack I smoked, which tasted really really REALLY bad and left me gasping after half of a cig.

That was... quite a while ago.   The way I saw it, I'd only stop smoking once it stopped being pleasant.  I happened to get pneumonia and decided to keep smoking in order to make it unpleasant.  Worked like a charm.

I found a stale half pack of cigs buried in the back of some stuff the other week.  I looked at them with disgust instead of thinking "Man, it'd be a waste to throw these out."
