I think the under reported aspect of the whole Russia/Crimea situation is whether or not we were blindsided by this.  If the NSA truly is spying on everyone, everywhere, at all times (and I believe the are) - shouldn't they have seen this coming?  So did we know, yet are acting surprised because we don't want to play our hand, or did we just miss out on this one?  If the former, why even bother spying if we're going to play dumb anyway, and if the latter, what the fark NSA?  My money is on the latter, by the way.
