Hell of a scrap and a good clean one too.  No shirt pulling, hip tosses or any other BS.

I consider myself a hockey fan but don't really see the need to continue to allow fighting. That said, I love the Enforcers' code - they understand their role, and the other guy's role, too. Nice to see the high five at the end, reminded me of Laraque saying 'Good luck' before dropping the gloves.

Linesmen should have stopped it at the 30 second mark; it's like, "OK guys, you made your point."

Am i the only one that thinks fighting is the dumbest part of hockey and the sport would be better off without it?

Love hockey.  Fighting in hockey is stupid.  It doesn't accomplish anything.  People who claim it keeps players from playing dirty are delusional.  Promote skill, talent, and playmaking, not thuggery and drain bamage.

Yeah, Canada. The American public thinks it can improve your game by reducing one of the more entertaining, and effective, components of the game.

I, for one, typically hate my fellow Americans, and most of the "OMG, not hockey!" Fark types.

DIAF, all of you. Leave my game alone. Go watch golf or Miley Cyrus...whatever it is you do.

Yep, it's just you.

No it is not just you. Now if they were allowed to use their sticks or skates on each other, or didn't stop the fight when one guy falls down it would be different. Hell they don't even pick each other up and slam them into the ice, attempt to mangle their wrists, elbows, knees or break bones. Fighting in hockey is just a couple of nancies dancing around each other with an established "code" for a few minutes while ignorant fans cheer.

Agreed, I've never heard that view expressed.

They were going to but were waived off by the players. Usually they'll stay close enough to separate them but far enough away to keep from getting sucker-punched my one of the combatants trying to get in a cheap shot.

It's all in the timing. During a "clean" fight, the players go at it, while the linesmen watch for a chance to jump in, and usually when they remain standing, the fighters will typically both stop and nod that it's time to break it up. If they still have energy they'll often tell the linesmen "not yet" or some other cue to have them stay away until they both tucker out.

If the linesmen try to move in too soon, they risk being hit and it's not their place to be the punching bag. The fans do enough of that as it is.

I'm Canadian. I love hockey.

Fighting is beyond stupid. There is no valid argument for it to be part of the game anymore.
