If you're thinking about a cigarette butt, more than her butt you've got a problem.

"I've never looked."

My wife definitely thinks more about quitting smoking than she does about sex... and she doesn't even smoke.

/try the veal.

Shoot, that's why I have sex.

It took me 16 years of quitting to finally get it right.
I quit cold turkey, as no other effort ever helped me in the least.
I accepted the discomfort as being like a cold. You are suffering, you will continue to suffer, and there will be no specific breakthrough. You will simply be less and less sick as time goes on.
I know from experience any cheat whatsoever blows the whole plan.
But seriously people, once it's over, it's over and you never have to deal with it again, and every time you see a smoker freezing their ass off outside a restaurant, it's like seeing the "school starts next week" billboard knowing it will never apply to you.

Haven't had a single puff since 5:00p, Dec. 20, 2008

I've saved about $18,000 in money alone, much less the misery and dependence.

At Dwindle - yep, same here. Had to stop cold. 3 years now (March 4th - I wanted to use a date that was a verb)

If I can do it, anyone can.

As a nation, I believe that we need to reframe the way we talk and think about quitting or cutting down smoking.

It's true. In my mind, I didn't quit smoking, I just stopped for a little while. A little while has quickly turned into 6 years. It can be done. You just have to really, really want it, and you have to be doing it for yourself.

If you smoke after sex either you are doing it too fast, you aren't using enough lube, or your lube of choice has too low of a smoke point.

Congrats, you've been free a few months longer than I have... Feb 28th, 2009.

Used to smoke roll ups so only saved just over $2,000. And my lungs.

Well, that sounds like a bunch of BS. Well-sourced, too.

I could maybe buy that guilt-ridden smokers who want to quit might think about it more than sex. Probably not, but I could entertain the notion. But smokers in general? Hell no.

March 4th.  I'm stealing that idea.

Except now I have to smoke for another year, goddamnit.

Yup.  Smoked for a couple years, then dipped for about 10 more.  Tried many ways to quit.  Finally after a "forced" cold turkey (family trip to a remote area with no dip in sight) I realized that after day 3 it didn't get any worse.  I didn't quit right then but I knew it was possible.  A few months later, I did it for good and never looked back.  Yes it sucked but I feel so much better now!

I've smoked for 35 years. A month and a half ago, I got the flu, and it turned into pneumonia. I almost died. Needless to say, I couldn't smoke for five days. After my lungs started clearing, I said fark it, and just decided "no more!" Easiest quit I've ever had. About once a day I get a craving, so I distract myself. I'm done with tobacco. Good luck you guys, I wish you success.

I like it!

I actually am ready to quite.  On April 10th, I will have been drug and alcohol free for one year, so smoking is my next battle.
I think about quitting all the time, but not as much as I think about sex.

Well if you do it right, you could use low percentage nicotine gel to get them hooked on your party parts...

There's an addiction I could get used too..

*This method of use has not been tested by the FDA, AMA, or the CDC.  Use at your own risk. This method of use can both lead to pregnancy as well as birth defects in said pregnancy.   Farker is not a doctor or in the medical profession in any way.  In fact you should probably do just the opposite of what is suggested...

"I'd rather you use lube .."

Why not just smoke electronic cigarettes?
