Bondith: Wow, Cops In Federal Way sounds like a much more exciting show than Cops In Ballard.

The 5-year-old girl later told police Hulme tore the ear off one of her stuffed animals and called her a thief,

Crazy comes in a lot of flavours, almost all of them scary.

/that's not how you park a car in Ballard

As a local crazy I have to burst your bubble on this. People with mental illness are less likely to commit a violent crime than the normal population. In fact, the mentally ill are more likely to be victims of violence than to commit it.

Facts About Mental Illness and Violence
Violence & mental health
People With Mental Illnesses Aren't Actually More Prone to Violence
Understanding Severe Mental Illness

Some Quotes:

Teplin et al found that those with SMI (serious mental illness) are 11 times more likely to be victims of violent crime than the general population.

The contribution of the mentally ill to overall crime rates is an extremely low 3 to 5 percent, a number much lower than that of substance abuse.

The majority of violent crimes and homicides are committed by people who do not have mental health problems.

Although studies suggest a link between mental illnesses and violence, the contribution of people with mental illnesses to overall rates of violence is small, and further, the magnitude of the relationship is greatly exaggerated in the minds of the general population (Institute of Medicine, 2006).
