Copperbelly watersnake: It's not a movie hotel, but I was kind of surprised during my first trip to DC that the Watergate still exists. I guess technically I could have stayed there, but not on a nonprofit travel budget.

Not only does it exist, it's considered one of the best places to live in Washington.  I twas built as a hotel/condo complex, and at the moment, studios with good views sell for $400K.

/DC real estate is insane.

wildcardjack: We don't even care that it's actually situated in Woodstock, Illinois, as opposed to Punxsutawney, Philadelphia, like the film.

Wanna know how I know this author isn't American? Guess, just guess.

And is geographically challanged.

You can stay where future resistance leader John Connor was conceived in 1984, at the Tiki Motel from The Terminator.

ok start CSB time:

I went to a wedding at the Stanley Hotel (guest house section) about 5 years ago and one night I was laying in bed and heard people running up and down the hallway.  I just lay there until i hear it again and i look out the peephole and see no one.  So I go back to laying down and i continue to hear people running up and down the hallway.  So i open my door and don't see anyone.  I lay down and the same thing happens.  I go out in the hallway and put my ear up to each door and don't hear anyone awake.  I go up to the second floor and don't hear anyone awake there either.  So I go up to the third floor and rearrange the couches for the lolz.

end CSB, thank you for your time

/i think it's part of Carino Canyon now. Or a Walmart parking lot

Sure seems to be, thanks, I had often wondered.

The hole John Goodman digs out of during the escape was supposedly filmed by the police station south of Piestewa Peak, just northwest of the Biltmore. I always wanted to go see if I could find it but I wasn't sure whether it was cop-land, parkland, city land or private land.

Wouldn't surprise me, but I visited AMEX several times right there at the time (now Schwab) and it was still pretty built up. Though the water plant or the police station could certainly be dressed up to look like a prison.

I loved that movie. If residents in that Carino Canyon development don't hold an annual Raising Arizona beer bash movie night out there, well fark them!
