Wasteland: Meh. Plays well on the national level, sure; but trying to use this for the state primary, Bevin's going to quickly discover that Kentuckians actually aren't all that shy about loving pork projects. It's a big reason why McConnell's been kept around as long as he has.
Summercat: Y'know, while I don't like wasteful spending, I don't think 'pork' or earmarks are necessarily a bad thing. They seemed to be the grease in the wheels of politics that allowed compromise. But hey, it's spending MY money on other people, and I don't like that! My money should be spent on ME AND ME ALONE!
Dog Welder: Despite more than $90 million in federal funds, the MTTC and the nonprofit that ran it officially went belly up last year. But remember: according to Mitch McConnell, the government should not be "picking winners and losers."
SirLothar: How's that free market working out for ya? To me, it appears this "business" could not support itself without federal assistance.
