kregh99: Good. Hope they rot.
balki1867: Fark those guys. Seriously. There was a guy in my fraternity who brought his dog down to school one semester. Dumbest move ever. He thought it was hilarious to blow pot smoke in its face and feed it beer, and of course all the other idiots in the house followed suit. Eventually the dog developed a liking for beer, and if you weren't careful, she'd purposely tip over your beer so it would spill and she could drink it up. Ultimately she'd puke it all up and her owner was passed out drunk somewhere and couldn't care to deal with it till the next day when he woke up at noon.A dog weighs ~1/3 of an adult male (depending on the breed, obviously), and their livers aren't built for processing alcohol the ways our livers are.I'm not all that high and mighty on this kind of crap (honestly I've never even owned a pet). But he had no business letting a dog to live in a frat house.
SNGX1275: Says more about the quality of your fraternity than anything else. You have a whole bunch of guys... and allow that behavior to continue without trying to put an end to it? I lived in a pretty big fraternity house in college and we had some dogs over the years, none of that nonsense happened.
Cold_Sassy: How do kids that farking stupid even get into college?

(It's not that people were pro-drugging the dog, they just didn't seem to think it was a big deal). My moving out was a result of many factors, not just the dog situation. Most of the older guys who recruited me are smart successful, people with whom I'm still very good friends. I'm still close to only a handful of guys younger than me.I posted this in a fraternity thread on Fark a while back, but one of the best descriptions I ever read about fraternity life was from a columnist at my school newspaper-- "You'll meet 5-10 lifelong friends, 40-50 guys you can grab a drink with, and 5 people you'd rather not associate with."
SNGX1275: Fair enough. I think that is a fairly accurate assessment. The culture of my house certainly changed between my first 2 years and the last year I lived in the house, but I don't know that the guys were any worse or better, just people I'd be less likely to hang out with. Or maybe we just have more respect for the older guys..
