Audi is not marketing to millennial hipsters. It's marketing to insecure 40-somethings who want to pretend that they have some capacity to still be hip, but can't find hipness unless it's prepackaged in neatly consumable bite-sized portions.

That's a bingo. The younger hipsters don't have the money for an A4, what with their vinyl collection and search for mint condition Garbage Pail Kids cards to turn into an art installation.
