If she really wants to be disappointed, she should marry ME!

How he broke it to her that he was leaving:

media.tumblr.com

/What's the over/under that he tried to save her from Scientology and she wouldn't leave the cult?

2014-03-10 05:58:17 PM
Was he beating her?  No?

After reading that, she sounds like

So it was just like Portlandia?

/She should have put a bird on it.

Elisabeth Moss = Scientologist

2014-03-10 06:01:04 PM
Translation: "He thought $cientology was totally batsh*t so I had to identify him as an SP"

/I'm assuming he didn't actually abuse her or something.

I never knew who she was until someone told me she was in this commercial.  Then she became "the one that looks like Craig Ferguson in drag, especially the last few seconds of it"

I have a friend who knew Fred Armisen early in his career and she said that he was kind of a creep.

2014-03-10 06:06:05 PM
Scientologist?
Judas Priest.
I didn't know she was moon-barking crazy.

2014-03-10 06:07:27 PM
#1 cause of short marriages?  Changing your behavior and expectations the split second you get married.

/Been there, seen that, got the psychic scars to prove it.

I refuse to believe Carrie Brownstein's BFF is kind of a creep. These are not compatible ideas.

Did she undercook/overcook the fish? Because that's straight to Jail.

2014-03-10 06:39:32 PM
I wonder if she objected to him constantly wanting to have sex with men? I really thought that Fred was gay.

2014-03-10 06:46:47 PM
She probably got tired of him doing the

"and and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and    and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and   and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and  and"

You have to think that a 31 year old woman marrying *any* nearly-50-year-old man is going to have generational gap issues at the very least...

2014-03-10 07:11:22 PM
Just skimmed TFA, but it sounded like the worst part of the marriage was all the tabloids pestering her about the divorce, not that I give a rat's ass one way or the other about this.

/Don't like Scientology

Ay, Papi!

She probably had orders to marry him and then orders to divorce when it became obvious he wasn't going to join just to keep her Dexy's Midnight Runners dressing ass.

2014-03-10 07:30:32 PM
Comedians in general often have mental health issues and mistreat their significant others.

Dunno what Armisen's excuse is.

Hmm... Married in 2009... Divorced in 2010... So, basically she's a nobody with a shot at marrying a B-list celebrity. Then as soon as Mad Men takes off and she starts getting some recognition, she's in a position to upgrade. Does that about summarize it?

It's funny that she makes it sound like a tabloid "nightmare" when people either didn't know her or care, and her husband was the more famous and most people didn't know or didn't care that he was married.  No kids or pets to make a dirty custody battle, so she ends up indistinguishable from half the marriages in this country.  I guess that was the "tragedy".

Count me into the "I thought Armisen was gay" camp.

Great drummer as well as comic actor.

In other news, I just learned Fred Armisen is straight.

2014-03-10 08:10:33 PM
I think she's a great actress but the scientology thing is creepy. Fred Armisen comes across as having no back bone in interviews. That would drive me nuts. But I also would not marry him knowing that. Never understood short marriages. Don't people try and make sure they understand each other's quirks and such before marriage?

2014-03-10 08:22:29 PM
Scientologist, compounded by the fact that she sets off my Les-dar. Her facial features just scream it. Considering how scientology deals with gays and lesbians, she's probably a pretty screwed up person thanks to the cult of hubbard suppressing her sexuality. Marriage wasn't going to work out for her, much less to an "outsider" who probably let her know what he thought of the cult.

She looked familiar from the article photo, but I couldn't place it until I went to her IMDB page - she was the President's daughter in The West Wing.

One of L Ron's sons was gay. You'd think L Ron would have known how to fix that.

He committed suicide, so I guess that was the fix.

No, she was more famous (a la West Wing) than Armisen before the marriage. She was more famous during the marriage. She's still more famous after the marriage.

That about summarizes it, from the fame angle.

Thanks! I was trying to remember the tv series I saw her in besides Mad Men. In the IMDB trivia section for "Top of the Lake":

"The Australian Broadcasting Corporation was set to co-produce and help fund the production but pulled out of its deal when Jane Campion cast American Elisabeth Moss in the lead role. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation had only agreed to help fund the project if an Australian or New Zealander was cast in the lead role. After they left the project, UKTV stepped in to co-produce and replace the lost funding."

And she was great in that role. The Austrailian Broadcasting Company lost out on a great show.

42 is not "nearly 50".  And she wasn't too young, just an idiot.

Sorry - those are boobs. However much I love Olivia, that's not her strong suit.
I do see the jaw line similarities in this wildly shopped photo.
I have one word... Milky.

That picture reminds me of this quote from Arthur:

"She really is quite beautiful when the light hits her just right. Of course, you can't depend on that light. "
