(The Raw Story)   Now Nancy Grace may not have realized this because apparently she was a lousy lawyer back in the day, but falsely claiming the cops found someone's DNA at a crime scene is called "libel"-and a very bad idea when the libelled person is a Kennedy   (rawstory.com) divider line 108

However the judge denied the defendants' efforts to treat Skakel as someone who is "libel-proof" because he had been convicted of the murder and could therefore not suffer any further damage to his reputation.
...
His conviction was set aside last year after a state judge ruled that Mr. Skakel had been deprived of effective counsel.

So, he wasn't convicted of murder either--strike 2!

Nancy Grace doing something that reinforces her status as a waste of skin?  Say it ain't so.

Skakel is not a Kennedy he was Ethel Kennedy's nephew.

Ohhhhh, the idea of her going down because of libeling a murder give me a semi.

Calling her a vulture is an insult to those noble carrion birds.

Her being sent to prison for this would be amazing.  She has been nothing but a sensationalist shiatbag since she got a TV show.  I'd love to see it happen.

There was no such evidence, and that's precisely why the case was so controversial and so hotly debated.  Having read about the objective evidence, I think it was Michael's brother who actually did the crime, and Michael took the blame and helped cover it up.

It's not gonna happen, with tort and what not; but, it might be enough for her to loose her show.

Well, of numbers mean anything, the Kennedy family has multiple scumbags in it, and Nancy is only one person.  One loud, irritating, annoying person, but still just one.  The Kennedys are legion.

Yes but Kennedy money is what is needed to see a libel charge through.  Most of her targets can't afford to go after her.

Happily, they seem to have karma so pissed off, and fate has such a hard-on for them, that their lives tend to be short and end in often sudden ways.

uuugh,

So I have a thing for true crime shows and HLN gives me that fix with Mystery Detectives pretty effectively (seriously, 5 hours of that shiat while doing my weekendly chores is amazing).

But I can't STAND when she gets on to promote her show.  She's explaining how her (now) sole purpose in life is to defend the meek and and give a voice to the silent victim!  But she always ends it with "and honestly, I think that's why I'm huuurr" (She's got that Paula Deen drawl)

And I've caught myself piping up and audibly saying "No biatch, it's because you were disbarred for being a horrible lawyer and now are milking your last chance of attention whoring"

Hate that asstwunt...you can decipher that one yourself.

2014-03-10 07:42:25 PM
I would love to see this harpy get her ass sued off her and then canned from TV over this.

Because she sensationalizes so many cases it puts undo pressure on the DA's to go to court and they wind up losing cases.

"Karas, a a legal commentator on the show, stated that Mr. Skakel's "DNA was found" in a tree near the crime scene."

So, it was a guest on her show that made the claim, not her. As long as it is corrected later, this shouldn't be much of an issue.

2014-03-10 07:56:56 PM
Yawn. The Kennedys are not relevant anymore.

But along the way, they take others with them.  Teddy got at least one, JFK Jr got two besides himself.   William Kennedy-Smith almost got one, and JFK Sr: Marilyn?  Someone else said that it was a guest that said the DNA part, so how is Nancy libel if that is the case?

FTFA: "Attorneys for  Turner Broadcasting stated by email that, "We are aware of the ruling and we are evaluating next steps."

Oh, Nancy, you may have stepped in it this time.  If Turner didn't leap to her defense then I'm guessing they are preparing to throw her under the bus.

So they are checking trees in the area of crime scenes for DNA now. Man, they are checking everything for DNA, "Johnson! That squirrel, check it for DNA pronto!"

Why can't we launch her into space?! :-(

Yeah, you don't go to jail for libel. And if the plaintiff doesn't have a reputation to lose, he may not get a big settlement either.

With all that said, shooting off her mouth, public libel, PLUS all the other crap that brittle whore has said, might be enough to lose her her show.

It would be to my sheer joy to see that shrieking harpy get her day in front of an equally shrill harpy of judge. I want to see her try to keep her beak shut while the judge lays into her.
She will find that she can't control the situation through out screeching, or hanging up or dismissively hand gesturing away the judge. It would be extra juicy for the judge to just tell her
to "Shut Up or you'll be in contempt!".

I couldn't give a fraction of a shiat about Nancy Grace, but what is it called when something "good" happens, but it benefits someone who's at least as reprehensible as Nancy Grace?  Zero sum game?

Can I be sued for libel if I say that (in my opinion) the Kennedys are Faustian scofflaws?

Mimi Beardsley, Chappaquiddick, and, presumably, the other things that were never uncovered.

Wait, THAT'S Nancy Grace? I've heard people talk about her all the time, but I've never actually seen her until now. Is she an artsy-comedy alter-ego of Eddie Izzard, like how Kaufman did Tony Clifton?
