Trashy_McKraut: How long until the first political appearance at Burning Man, and what corporation will it be sponsored by?
DarkSoulNoHope: Trashy_McKraut: How long until the first political appearance at Burning Man, and what corporation will it be sponsored by?I bet this will be the first corporation to take up the reigns.[onefrugalchick.com image 320x240]/they always love to take up anything "alternative" and market it to teenyboppers, no matter what the trend is at the time
lostcat: Never been to Burning Man. Never desired to go to Burning Man, but I'm not going to begrudge other people the right to go to the middle of fark-all and do what they want (provided they show some environmental responsibility).I'm also not going to begrudge people from creating a company to regulate access to that thing as a non-profit entity. Isn't that what the free market is all about?
H31N0US: BM is one of those things that was cool in the 90's but has run its course.Kind of like the Full Moon party on Kho Phangan. And Bill Clinton. And myself.Don't judge me.Get off my lawn.
Repo Man: These events really don't interest me. But being in a place where there are women wandering around dressed like this would not be a bad thing.[www.lettersfrompeter.com image 850x752]Good lord, what a body.

Ayn Rand's Social Worker: People at Burning Man love telling each other that "You're Doing it Wrong!". It is one of the more acceptable generic greetings. The math is against the festival now. It was almost half first timers the last few years, and now there are hundreds of thousands of people who have been, and many of their friends who want to go, and only 70,000 tickets. It is a good thing that they're now supporting the regionals more, now more people can have something like the experience without having to squeeze into the desert. It is a great rite of passage. It's a mediocre way to spend a whole year though. Good for a few mind-blowing experiences, then it's time to move on or step it up...
