I'm imagining an anchor, unkempt hair and with a slight crazy eye, fast talking straight into the camera for 25 minutes at a clip, only stopping to take breathes and look up at the "White Board", a mob-family-esqe graphic of how all the stories fit together.

"The boomer market, which we're focusing on, has 80 million Americans. There's really not much on cable servicing them,"

I'd say about 90% of it is made just for them. Young people don't even subscribe to it anymore.

That coveted 60-95 demographic that advertisers are always dying to court will surely keep this afloat. Nothing like basing your business model around a customer base that's set to die shortly.

Will the NewsMax channel have the "eight biblical secrets about investing" and a "shocking video that will bring down Obama"?

Yeah I am so thankful the NewsMax sidebar is gone from FARK.

I recall a pathetic attempt at a TV show by Newsmax, called "Newsmax.Com Reports"

It was two old, gray men in suits, seated at a table with a banner draped across the front enscribed with the Newsmax logo.  The guys read monotonously from paper scripts they held in their hands, and barely looked up at the cameras.

It was so terrible, even the Freepers ridiculed it.   http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/562225/posts

I've actually been waiting for someone to latch onto the business model of Fox News 2.0

Why bother with even the sham pretense of Fox's "fair and balanced"?  Balance is for pinkie libbo commie bastards, if the far-right mentality is correct then 100% non-stop far right reporting, fair and unbalanced, is the way to go.  Half the conservosphere labels Fox as part of the mainstream MSM media now anyways, its time for a truly conservative news network.

It would be quite hilarious if this Newsmax channel stole enough viewers from Fox News to seriously hurt them (maybe even kill them), yet not enough viewers to survive itself.  So you'd be left with neither of them in a few years.

Let's see, the right wing echo chamber, like all chambers, has 6 sides-

Fox news as the floor,  Limbaugh radio as the ceiling, Glenn Beck TV as one wall,  moonie times, WSJ editorials and the rest of the wingnut papers as another wall, WND, American Thinker, and a slew of other nutjob websites as the third wall... yep, there is room left for one more media outlet, to make the echo chamber complete. Because God forbid the sheep go for one second without hearing someone reinforce their prejudices, bigotry, and hate.

You underestimate the addiction of the average conservative- they need to hear this stuff every day, all day. If there were 10 conservative TV channels, they would figure out a way to watch all 10. Conservatives, like born again Christians, need to have their faith reinforced continually. Meth addicts look at them and start thinking about performing an intervention.

Being since ratings equals money and the purpose of any cable news network is to make money, I could see the two networks lock horns in a bitter war for the hearts of the conservative news audience.  With FOX being the established network, I could see the Newsmax network calling it the "RINO Network" and lump it in as part of the lamestream media.while FOX accuses Newsmax of being some sort of liberal plot.

Who says echo chambers have to be cubes? There are plenty of enclosed pollygonal forms that would allow for an ever increasing number of surfaces off of which the derp can bounce and amplify itself. Why be so limiting?

Well, Chris Ruddy did say that the Clintons were now his friends in that CNN interview. And, just to think that NewsMax was born from the whole Vince Foster scandal.

IMO, Newsmax will do whatever it takes to make a buck, as long as it doesn't piss off their audience of angry, fearful old white dudes.

Fox News is in the business of selling advertising slots.  As far as I know, they're not looking to hawk stuff with the Fox News brand, so they're pretty much just focused on content.

Newsmax, on the other hand, supplements its advertising revenue from floor-humper guy and all-natural boner pills with books (read about the attraction secrets the liberal media doesn't want you to know!), newsletters, and other assorted crap.
