"...and then got off the bus."

So--what? After all that he didn't even need the f*cking seat?! See, this is why this b/s entitlement is so infuriating. You don't really need or want the seat (or whatever), you just feel all uppity because you don't HAVE to be nice. It's mine and that's that. Someone needs to trot out the old Aesop fable about the dog in the manger.

Geez, people, if you don't need something, don't hang onto it just because f*ck everyone else.

When the bus driver asks you to move to the back of the bus in order to make room for others, that doesn't mean "stand in front of the back doors."

/alternately, you could wait for the next bus when you see that the one you want is that full

2014-03-09 04:40:28 PM
Asked or told to change seats?

And how?  "Move the hell over boy,  a real person wants your seat."

But seriously,  when I rode, the seats at the front of the bus were for the elderly and mothers with their giant stupid strollers.  Sit somewhere else if you don't want to have to move.

You sit in the priority seating, you give it up to people who need it. It's federal law, but you know what it also is? Not being a shiatty excuse for a human being.

Also, what's with the idiots who won't move to the back of the bus and let other people board when all the seats are already full? Does it kill you to walk up the two steps in the back so that people aren't forced to shove their way past you so they can find an open place to stand?

Yeah, you're probably the guy to the go home and biatch that the bus was late because some stupid biatch with a stroller had to hold everything up while she sat there and folded up her stroller.

Nobody EVER thinks of you, do they?

Anyone who doesn't move FOR my stroller gets rammed BY my stroller. (And it's tiny, so I don't feel bad either way)

But seriously, it seems to bring out the best in people. The bus people make room for me, they help me get the stroller on and off, and they frequently make googoo faces at baby for me

It is so annoying when in a transit vehicle, people are crowding near the doors and not moving back. There is usually tons of space (and even seats!) further in if people would just move further in.

The old buses didn't have to comply with ADA.

Old people are quite often rude when public transportation is involved.
If you want something I've got, try asking politely the first time.

D.C. metro is like this. Riders are constantly reminded to move to the center of the car when boarding.

And the "cool" people were at the back of the bus. Driver = authority. Therefore, sit in the back. Who the hell sits near the driver?

I had a girl (late teens, and absorbed in her headphones) yell at me when I had to nudge her aside to get to the door while getting off a crowded train. I used the same response. Don't like being shoved? Don't block the goddamn door, and don't ride crowded trains. It's not gonna hurt you, and it's expected with transit. Get over yourself.

Take note, my fellow childless schlubs. THIS is how you deal with fussy babies in public spaces.

/chances are, they're usually shocked that a strange face is paying attention to them and will stop crying
