Anyone knows how long it might take until we know the causes of the crash? Is politic going to be a factor? Politic is always a factor but how much in this case as I don't know how Vietnam, Malaysia and China feel toward each others. (Not going to assume that Vietnam and China are BFF just because they're both Communist).

Not good. Not good at all. Vanished into thin air.

/or a bad landing

Even a bad landing or some kind of major failure would generally give you time to radio in.

Sudden and complete loss like this is usually one of a couple things. Either the plane was shot down, or it exploded. Since it's a newer plane, the odds of a catastrophic equipment failure to cause that is very unlikely.

While I'm not a big supporter of our terrorism panic over every little thing. This may indeed be a terrorist attack.

You really think the MSM here give a flying fark about 4 most likely "brown Americans" on a Malaysian flight from Kuala Lampur to Beijing? They will tomorrow when they have definite news about it, but they aren't going to wake up a staff of people and break their pre-recorded drivel for the late night programming for a flight halfway across the world.

For one, it's the weekend. All the real anchors and such are out partying and resting from a hard week of Primary coverage and prep for upcoming primaries.

Secondly, Spring Break is gearing up. Hell, IT IS Spring Break in Texas and I'm sure other states as well. They have to get mobile stations set up to show all the T&A of drunk young college kids. Because sex sells a whole hell of a lot better than a bunch of dead foreigners on the other side of the globe, especially since most of the people on that plane are from countries that the viewers of the news don't give a damn about.

If that were a plane full of mostly Americans, then it would be a story that the news editors and producers would get excited about and rush to cover. But, it isn't and they'll let the international and local boys do the leg work and feed B-Roll with the AP and Reuters bylines and call it a day.

2014-03-08 02:32:35 AM
According to a source at BBC World News (the TV station), a "crash" is still unconfirmed by the Vietnamese Navy, and their Navy spokesperson has said that they are searching the area they believe it might have gone down, but haven't located any wreckage yet, as of about 20 minutes ago.

Maybe certain warships are in the area

Don't know who your cable provider is, but it sounds like they suck big floppy donkey dick. I have Dish and they have AJAmerica on channel 215. Time Warner also carries them. And my Dish bill doesn't even come close to 180/mo. Cutting the cord sounds good, beam it in instead

I believe it is roughly 12 hours ahead of EST in the area of the official/unofficial crash site. You would think any wreckage would be easy to spot.
Judging from the sample of comments on news sites English is not their first language, expect confusion.
I need a nap.

Sarah Palin predicted this back in 2008, but everyone said she was crazy.

Why did Obama do more to prevent this disaster? He is a failed president and should be impeached.

Rumor is China "accidentally" shot it down.
