""I said 'well, let's hope it wasn't an Africanized bee' and he said 'oh no, it's not one of those,' and that was it," Jamey said."

Instead he was stung by a Sucessful and Attractive African American bee.

In a brush pile?  That's a wasp nest, not a bee hive.  Wasps have the more dangerous sting, as well.

So I see the video still of the guy in shades and backwards ball cap, holding his Big Gulp, with his father's body under the tarp eight feet away.

I get to the "last conversation."

Then I have to scroll back up to check if I missed the fact that I'm reading the Onion.

Probably, but could be bumble bees.  They sometimes build the nests underground. Don't know if their habitat includes San Diego, but I know from first hand experience they can sting like a motherfarker.

At least the bees aren't in a dogs mouth so that when it barks it shoots bees.

I suppose that's possible too.  Never had a problem with bumble bees, as in my experience they're quite docile.

Did have some fun last year when I found yellowjackets built a nest under a part of my lawn.  I had noticed there were wasps around that area in the weeks before, but there are a lot of flowers in the area so I didn't think anything of it.  Then, at the end of summer, when wasp nests peak for the season, I mowed the lawn above their heads... fun times.

Heh, glad I wasn't the only one thinking this was a little wacky.  Then again we're talking about Valley Center, CA, next to Hellhole Canyon Preserve.  Yokelville, USA.

Jamey said before his father, Bruce, lost consciousness, the two of them had one last, very brief conversation.
"I said 'well, let's hope it wasn't an Africanized bee' and he said 'oh no, it's not one of those,' and that was it," Jamey said.

Thanks Obama.

As Futurama has taught us, Bees and Wasps are the same thing.

Weird how this happens right after the bee attack episode of Parks and Rec.

That's local to me.  Nobody has mentioned wasps, everybody says it was 3 bee stings.  Turns out the guy also had a heart condition, and had been feeling weak and short of breath for the last few weeks.  What they're inferring but not saying outright is the guy had a heart attack.

Snotnose: Nobody has mentioned wasps, everybody says it was 3 bee stings.

Probably because a large number of people call small wasps "bees".

Mowing the yard one day I discovered a nest of either bees or wasps in the ground.  I don't know what  they were exactly as as soon as I figured out what was going on, I got the hell out of dodge so that I wouldn't be attacked.

Then I worked up a plan.

I recruited a friend, a brave one, and we waited until about 10pm when it was finally fully dark out.  We took a flash light, a super soaker filled with gasoline, and a small bucket-sized contained filled with gasoline as well.  We walked to where the nest was, waited to make sure nothing was flying out at us, and I hosed the surrounding area down by using the super soaker, making a line back to my sidewalk.  Then my friend ran up and poured the bucket right down on the entrance to the nest, at the same time I flicked my lighter and lit the trail of gasoline.

I want to say there was a lot of excitement to doing all of this but other than when the gasoline took off and made a beeline (PUN) right to the nest and an instant fireball erupted.....that was it.  The gas burned itself out, I had a scorched patch in my yard for weeks, but no bees existed anymore.  I wanted to see like the ground come alive as the bees all tried to escape at once, or fly through the air on fire, but none of that happened.  They roasted to death in an instant and that was all.

I've been a beekeeper for years and I don't even own a bee suit.
BEES AND WASPS aren't the same thing you bloody buffalo-kissing bastards!!!

I was mowing my yard in the small strip in front of my fence when I felt an ugodly pain in my ankle (I was thoughtful enough to wear protective clothing such as shorts and sandles). Apparently I had discovered a nest of the vicious hell-beasts commonly known as yellow jackets. I got stung twice more in the back of the legs and in the farking ear before I was able to escape the ever growing cloud of malice.

I was unable to fight back while they were an organized orgy of bloodlust, so I retreated to home home to wait...and plot. Come evening and a quick trip to the store I was ready to enact my revenge. Slowly, with the stealth of a ninja and the grace of a cat, I crept up to their murder-hole. Two of them stood guard, silently waiting at the entrance, ready to explode pain-juice like Satan's testicles. They had no idea of the horror about to befall them.

Slowly I raised the can. I whisper "Scher dich zum Teufel!" I don't know why I thought they would understand German, but if there was ever a language a truely evil being would use, it would be German. And then I unleashed the holy jihad of my chemical attackand sprayed 3/4ths of the contents of the can into their lair. And that's when, quite literally, all hell broke loose. Thousands of the bastards took to flight. But wait! What's this? They were having trouble flying, and were falling to the ground in convulsions. Their tiny minds didn't know why their bodies would no longer obey the orders to spread misery and strife. All they knew was pain. Hopefully the same pain they inflicted on me.

I watched. For a while. Taking almost an obscene amount of pleasure in watching the last spark of life fade from the first to be exposed. Then I left them to wallow in misery for Adventure Time was on. The next day I returned to the killing fields to survey my handiwork. Corpses were everywhere. Providing no threat, yet still looking as menacing as the day before. While the soldiers littered the ground, upon glancing into the abyss they called home, I could see many more corpses. Presumably the women and children who died while using the last of their stength to try and crawl to the freedom of fresh air and dying within sight of it.

Upon seeing the death and destruction I caused I could only stare in stunned silence, before I managed to speak two words. "Fark you" I said. "Fark you."
