I would do it just for the lulz. and imagine if the guy could pull out another dynasty (as unlikely as that might be). They'd have to rename the championship trophy after him

/then again, i'm not Phil
//or am i?
///i'm not

If and only if the Knicks retain Carmelo and somehow pick up another star, I'm sure

I don't know if the Knicks will be able to meet Jackson's demand to have one best-player-in-the-game-currently on the roster.

Hard to believe he doesn't want to leave his cushy retirement to get involved in that dumpster fire.

Phil Jackson has already won multiple rings with the Knicks. Why would he walk into that trainwreck?

Palmer Eldritch: Phil Jackson has already won multiple rings with the Knicks. Why would he walk into that trainwreck?

Also: the last time this was brought up, Dolan didn't want to sign Phil anyway because Phil was infinitely smarter than that asshole...and Dolan doesn't like being shown up.

That right there; that clown won't be happy until he's has to forced to sell the club because they'll be so low, they'll have to look up to see Penn Station.

wouldn't there also be some conflict of interest issues if he were to work for any team other than the Lakers due to said involvement?

They only have $68mm tied up next year. And that's not counting Melo.

Nana's Vibrator: eh.  worth a shot.

it would have been, if they had fired their current coach first. Now that coach is stuck in a job for who knows how long with 0% support from management. All to go after a candidate they had no chance of getting for many obvious reasons.

On top of this, they traded this year's draft pick to the Nuggets, so they have no reason to tank, and absolutely still consider themselves in "win now" mode.

The JR deal was killer.  I mean it was the most predictable thin ever but you have to sigh him based on the year he had right? RIght?

...Right?
