My college in the US did (still does). My roommate accepted his diploma in the nude. There were lots of costumes and performances.

And not one Obama in the crowd? *leaving disappointed*

My high school had no rules for clothing, either, so long as we wore our graduation gown over it. I loved that gown, because it let me smuggle in a deflated beach ball duck taped to the inside of my leg.

Your roommate routinely traipsed about in the nude?  Man, you must have some stories.

... don't wanna hear them, though.  I seen your selfie.

I would wear a crushing burden of debt from which I wouldn't escape until my mid-30s.

Ha!

Yeah, there was a Fark link a while back about Alison Brie supposedly "streaking" when she was at the school. Which probably meant she was walking back to her dorm from the pool like everyone else. Everyone was nude at the pool.

What is truly offensive is when a gay guy can't wear his birthday suit to graduation.  Geez, so much for a gay friendly country.

Any college/univeristy outside the anglosaxon world allows students to wear what they please.

Few have the tradition to dress up like asses though, because once you're really allowed to dress as you please, it stops being special.

Wish I could have done that at my graduation, considering how much money I forked over for tuition.

/would have dressed up as a Starbucks barista

I worked pretty hard for my degree and it has provided me with the opportunity to work for a good wage, while doing work that I more or less enjoy.  I'm pretty happy that my graduation wasn't a photo op for a bunch of cosplayers.

Dear Japan. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should

At least the Sailor Moon girls were wearing school girl uniforms.

I ended up with a picture of me in the local paper blowing a 3 inch blue bubble while wearing my cap and gown.

You see, there's always a few people with no imagination or sense of adventure.  They could have worn anything they wanted, and they just dressed up in everyday normal attire.

I probably would have dressed up in either a Beetlejuice costume, my Super Mario costume, a Link from Legend of Zelda costume, or dress up like I am going to a GWAR concert (or more Mad Max).

Long term student loan debt applies to most kids these days regardless of their major.

How in the world did Mr. Shrink-Wrapped Meat accept his diploma? Bending over?

And Cardbo (Danbo) couldn't have had an easy time either.

I think I would have went with the regular graduation robe. The square hat would have needed to be fixed to spin when you groin grinded a congratulation though.

Very disappointed that there wasn't at least one hottie busting out of some lingerie in there.

Wait, going to a GWAR concert, or going to be in a GWAR concert?

'Cause one, you wear whatever is easily washed and you wouldn't be too crushed if you had to throw away afterwards.  The other, now that's special.

/Sorta liked the CCTV-head costume

Now those must be some very interesting graduation day pictures. Those must be floating somewhere around the interwebs to the amusement of many.
