catmandu: OlderGuy: Hey, folks.. just got caught up on the thread... and catmandu got kilokitty....   Alien ! great to see you here.. and yes, we are all in mourning over the loss of Dragon.. hope Sherpa is ok... most of us know that feeling, and we all dread that time....

WooHoo! I am never going to get a Caturday greenlight so Kilokitty is great.

Hector has a new amusement. I finally got my desk fish tank up and running again and got a betta. He has been sitting on the laptop watching it swim since I got it.

[i283.photobucket.com image 650x471]

Here he is looking off into space. Now that his hair is growing longer, he is looking more super dark brown in places like his belly.

He sure is turning into a handsome boy!!!

John Buck 41: The Ice Queen: tigerose: Winter weather advisory for Tuesday night into Wednesday morn. I am so done with snow, I cannot tell you!

Eli will be demanding his half of the bed again..last night he got too warm and left. I always said I was hot...in flashes..my own tropical vacation..

Nothing here yet but Marion County just to the north is already under a Winter Storm Watch

We have one coming Wednesday night. 6 to 10 inches of that filthy white shiat  :(

Read about that... the 'frost line' is around NY.. we are getting rain... again... I think the water table is ground level right now.. the bright side is that all of the reservoirs are full now, and a friend in DPW says the storm drains have been flushed clean.. apparently lots of leaves were clogging things up.. gone now....

How's Buddy?

Hey, thanks for thinking of us, especially with the events of this weekend.

He's not having a very good few days, won't eat, periodically vomiting bile, weak, very tired.  He's been like this several times before though, and so far has always come out of it on his own within a few days to a week or so.  We're trying to stay strong and nurse him through it, without losing our shiat & panicking that this is the beginning of the end.

He's still drinking a healthy amount of water each day and peeing normally, which is probably a good sign.  He almost, *almost* licked a pretzel stick last night (didn't eat it, but didn't try to run away from it), which is the first interest he's shown in food since Saturday.  Not interested in food yet today though.  I think we'll break out the stir-fried chicken for dinner tonight in the hopes that he'll be tempted to eat some.

He loses his bladder control at night a little sometimes so I just ordered him a belly-band from a local lady who makes them, hopefully that will help not only with keeping things tidy but also with keeping up morale.

Thanks again for asking.  Here is a pic of him having a good comfy snooze between mommy and daddy on the couch.

How's Jazzy coming along today?  Much better I hope.  Give her and all your little critters a scritch for me.

Spinach Gunk, thanks for the update on your sweet little Buddy! Unfortunately my brain and my bod are now telling me it's time to go eat, and then sleep. Happy sweet dreams to all this week, and I look forward to seeing you on Purrsday! *ceiling cat...I wasn't kidding earlier! No moar shiat, okay?* I'm too old for this....:D xoxo

Hai everbuddy - I just wanted to drop in before thread close and thank you all once again - and let you know how much all the condolences, comments, and pics/captions of my beloved white boy have meant to me. (to say nothing of the phone calls/emails)

While I always knew that Dragon was special, I am still a bit astounded at how many lurkers came out of the woodwork to praise and/or remember him.

I am so happy that my little white cat could have such a huge presence here, and bring a little joy into people's lives  - and I hope that it encourages all of the lurkers to hang around and join us - I know that it would make the white one very happy.

Thanks again to everyone for being here for me through this difficult time, I could not have done it without you. I still have a bunch more pics that I took of him over the last few days before the end, but I can't deal with trying to upload them right now - maybe next week.

I miss him so much, and I would give anything in the world to have him come cuddle up on my lap and be able to hear him purr just one more time....

Just finished watching an episode of Through The Wormhole titled "When Does Life Begin".  During one segment, the factoid at the bottom of the screen stated that, on average, a dog has 160 million neurons while a cat has 300 million.

I read that and thought, "either they're counting big cats, or those doggies have some biiiiig neurons!"

Thank YOU, Sherpa, for letting the white guy be a part of our lives for a little while.  Please take comfort from the fact that, imho, many other regulars and lurkers are thinking the same thing right now.

And who knows, maybe somehow another little furry master will be contacted by Dragon and sent your way in order to provide the warmth and comfort that a good owner like you deserves.

THIS! Thank you, Uncle Cabbage for saying this :) I think it's safe to say we are all better people for having known Dragon and he will be missed... but he will also be immortal on Caturday, as there are just too many amazing pics/captions out there.  I know Dragon will send another furry master to sherpa when the time is right.  Just as Lucy sent us Cassie and so many other people have experienced with previous losses.

sherpa18 - so many of us totally understand the wish to have just one more moment... one more cuddle time... one more purr session... I still have those moments, and it's been over 3 years since my Lucy crossed the Bridge.  **Big Hugs** to you, my friend.

I was also amazed at the # of lurkers who de-lurked to comment on The White Boy.

Your last sentence is possibly sadder than your OP, but you will get through this, my friend.

Clumping tiredly to TempThreadsEnd. May be apropos that kilokitty was achieved quietly this time.
Chorusmate volunteers few hrs/wk for an outfit here in Zinzinnati called Pets In Need. Provides goods/services to same. Did look them up, they appear to do the Good Work that Dragon would approve of. Besides, they're 501c3 so tax-deductible, important to us cheap crotchety retired folx.
Had some other research to do in aid of coming regional contest for chori, following up rumour heard Sat AM & not followed up this AM when oughta have.  Missing number of posts while fiddling here, count for me is 1068.
Past time to wish you all as Good a Meowning as you can find, with healing comforting thoughts aimed NW by me in aid of Buddy the Wonder DogTM .
i.imgur.com3-24-13, date The Puce Guardian thus posted Dragon; looks more like him than earliest one found saved. Done for sherpa18, so had to be the white lad.
It's much too late for me to be up, as typed above, & still need rise at 8AM EST. fooey
All pls be safe, well & warm til Purrsday & beyond...

!GASP! I am the nicest, sweetest, mostest not-troublemakingest person EVAR! for your standard rowdy crowd aging metal head type Nature doesn't need to knock me out to keep the world safe!

No, actually it does need to knock me out to keep the world semi-sane. So there's that, I suppose. Whatever "that" even is. :-p

For all you East Coasters, I see you have another nasty coming to visit. Please stay warm and safe. Gotta be getting old for you out there by now. Probably BEEN old for a while. Meanwhile, in California, they've already started fire inspections (we are already above average for wildfires this year), we are in drought conditions and have a strict water schedule for our lawns and shrubberies and the water districts are starting drought billing, which means the rates will be much higher because not only is the resource scarce, if they didn't raise the rates to astronomical levels, some people would still think it is a good idea to wash their driveways as long as something came out of their garden hose, because they're idiots and assholes. I'm also eagerly awaiting the drought year tradition of "farmers vs conservationists" fighting about how much water the farmers can have and not kill all the salmon on earth by diverting it from their spawning grounds - among other water related things they will find to fight about. Welcome to California! We like it here, at least. I have avocados growing IN MY BACK YARD! and that makes it all worthwhile (if the skwerls don't get them all, which they try to do).
